Err under GA we hit it long and lost the ball immediately
All teams pass from the back.
Our goalkeeper is very one footed so most times it goes to Dunne and he is not very talented at passing or seeing the move ahead so goes back and eventually it goes to Dozell who immediately passes back to a central defender.
Its better than pumping it up field in hit and hope which the rockstar encouraged.

I often wonder.....Keeper knocking it high and long but it just comes back towards our goal after their defender win the ball and take charge of the game again - difficult. [Post edited 27 Dec 2023 8:55]

We play so slowly due to the lack of movement in midfield and up front. This is nothing new. the same problems were there under Warburton. And it was only worse when hoofing it forward.
5 managers in 18 months and still the same issues, it's the players that are the problem.
I've gone past caring about this lot now anyway, though I'm thankful we have MC who, fingers crossed, is allowed to build a squad in his own image. | | | |

I thought it was a tactic to tire Millwall out but could be wrong. It looked like it was starting to pay off after 25-30 minutes as their pressing slowed and we started getting further forward but we still didn’t really create any clear chances that I can remember. Having said that I thought their defence was solid and we quickly ran out of ideas, fell back and conceded a silly goal soon after. If we’d got to half-time at 0-0 that wasn’t a bad half from us. It relies on playing into midfield and progressing up the pitch. The midfielders yesterday were incapable of showing for the ball or being in space to give an option and when they do have it they tend to play it back anyway. So rare one of them took it on the half turn and played it to Smyth/Chair or, voodoo magic, carried the ball 15 yards up the pitch themselves. | | | |
