When you look at the goals he's scored and the profit he will make, his account with BFC will still be in credit when it happens, even despite being overdrawn for 8 months.
And as for his replacement, if he's not already at the club (Kevin Shade?), then you can be sure that they have their eye on replacement(s) and will make their move early.

Massively over the top and cringeworthy.
He treats his club like they're beneath him and yet they still worship him. His ban for betting could've put Brentford's position in the prem in danger yet the club/fans don't seem to mind. It's up there with chelsea worshipping Terry, Liverpool backing Suarez, and Utd idolising Cantona. Football fans are a strange breed. |
So, a late-developing 27 y.o. who wants to secure a place in the England squad for his first (likely only) time at a World Cup, wants to leave his mid-table PL team for a top team which plays in Europe etc, while also receiving 4 or 5 times his salary. While the mid-table club in question stands to make a £50m/60m/70m? profit on the deal?
When has anything like this ever happened in football before, eh?
There is no "disrespect" in making his intentions/ambitions clear, which is why the club has no problem with him. While he's remained hugely popular with his teammates and other club staff throughout this whole episode - a few gobby, idiot "fans" on Twitter notwithstanding.
Or are people confusing him with Joey Barton or Jordan Henderson?
P.S. The handful of small bets which he placed on his own team were all while he was out on loan to another club i.e. when he was in no position to influence the result personally. Were I English, I'd agree. I'd never pick him ahead of Kane (obv), or even alongside him.
But I assume Southgate will be building his attack around Kane, so that should he get injured/suspended, IT is the ideal, indeed only, alternative to step-up in his place | | | |

Of course the difference is massive and yep, like-for-like will be well nigh impossible.
But what do you reckon we should do? Keep him til he walks out on a free? Or just give up on trying to stay in the PL?
Hell, why bother trying to get promoted in the first place?
I have no doubt BFC have been planning for his departure almost from the day he arrived (or had he turned out to be a dud).
And while it's a shame he has to leave, nonetheless I'm looking forward to see what they come up with.
And if Plan B doesn't work out and we get relegated, then so be it - we've been in the Championship (or worse) before, so it won't kill us if/when it happens again. | | | |

He was on a winter sun break in Dubai, he was trying to impress some bird who egged him on, said it with a smile on his face and, er, that's it.
Of course some entitled, juvenile Bees fans were "outraged" by it, but the rest of us just shrugged our shoulders on a "Footballer behaves like a bit of a prat" basis and looked forward to his return.
On which last point, everyone agrees that he was exceptionally committed to his training and rehabilitation schedule, meaning that he's the fittest player at the club just now and able to hit the ground running. | | | |

Young men with lots of money and a degree of "celebrity" often do stupid things, not just in football, but in life generally.
The point being that this particular idiocy in no way affected his game or relationship with his teammates/club staff.

It's a big decision, but he comes across as someone quite happy to run his contract down.
In 12 months he can sign on a free for a foreign club. So in 6 months time he'll only have potentially 6 months left to be sold.

They certainly were, including a player who would have been in the England 1966 World Cup team.

I have always thought that Toney seems like a proper cun t, so I can definitely see him at Chelsea. Talking about ' manifesting' goals and victories - what a fuc king twa t.
And sorry, but any supporter with an ounce of self-respect for their club, doesn't dismiss the 'fu ck Brentford' video with a shrug of the shoulders. If that was a Fulham player doing that, I'd be setting my alarm 2 hours early every day to boo the cun t some more. We all know that players see small PL teams like ours as stepping stones, but it's not often they make it as obvious as Toney has.
One of my best mates is an Albion fan and seemingly like everyone at Brentford, he has fallen into the trap of thinking they've cracked football forever, will always appoint great coaches and sign 12 year olds from Latin America for £30 that they can sell a fortnight later for £4bn. Difficult thing to pull off with everyone else scouting the same markets. Probably still one or two Swans with the same conviction after their golden period,
