Yep, shame. I read a couple of weeks ago that they Powell and the club were in talks, all ok re financial package with just some football "issues" to resolve. I thought at the time it would send out a positive message to keep a manager despite league position thus showing a rare long term view and confidence in him. Oh well.
It would appear the football issues were about the owners links to his various other clubs where they bought several players from. Also the selling of players to relegation rivals.
Paves the way for Powell to join us when Harry goes due to his knee.
Powell is a god coach but not sure about him as a manager.
A god coach? Does that mean if he comes to us he'll be throwing down the words of the Lord at our players during training sessions? A bit of divine intervention might not go amiss I suppose.

He won't be coming to us. We should have grabbed Rosler before Wigan got their hands on him.
Replacing your affable, under-invested, promotion-winning manager with an unknown Belgian manager. This is after selling their best players in Jan in the middle of a relegation battle (admittedly out of contract in the summer) and replacing them with players rejected from other European leagues
their owner certainly isn't trying to be popular is he? Standard Liege were always going to be his main focus while they maintain the chance of European spot finishes though
