is it more likely to be the detachable bit that you plug into the wall, or the bit with the big rectangle that you plug into the computer?
The blue light on the rectangle bit will not turn on if that helps - it sits there limp and lifeless, a shadow of it's former self.

First check there isn't a power cut; then try another socket; then wiggle the connection between the detachable bit and the big brick bit; then ask your partner or neighbour if you can borrow their detachable bit; then go to a light shop for a new blue light bulb; then and only then go online for a new laptop at 499yesthats499downfrom549thiscyberwednesday.

Try switching it off then on again, if that don't work try switching on then off again.

Unlikely to be the plug lead, but check the fuse to be sure. Go to your local computer shop and get a replacement. Most chargers are poor quality and don't last long. |  |

You could do a continuity test on each section of the lead - the one with no continuity is the doff one. Perhaps you have a PAT machine to hand? That could analyse the results for you. |  | | |
