Where's the Swansalona Match thread?
at 09:23 22 Apr 2026

We have been saying for years re the stewards but the club must be told they have to do it. I cant see any business paying out on something for very minimal risk every 'week'.

Stewards must be getting c£15 per hour and would guess they have 4-5 hours per night, so £60-£75 per steward per game. I think we probably have 112-168 Stewards based on this and them sitting roughly 2-3m apart...

The Loftus Road pitch at Queens Park Rangers (QPR) measures 102 metres in length and 66 metres in width. Calculation: Total Perimeter: 336 metres

So lets go with 120 on £60 per night = £7200 per game x 23 games = £165,600

If you had half you would save £82,800 which could reduce all Season Tickets by £8.28 based on 10,000 being sold!!!

Unlike Varane, he is normally the one after a game having selfies, chatting, giving high 5s and last to leave the pitch.

EFL clubs to vote on expanding Championship playoffs to six clubs
at 07:58 11 Feb 2026

I actually dont mind it, as other said its what done in Conference.

I like that there is 'play off' reward for finishing higher (less games if 3rd and 4th as straight to semis) however, now I type this, the other alternative is 3rd place straight to final and 4th and 5th play to see who meets 3rd. That wont happen as less games and less excitement for those teams in 14th with a month to go.

Favourite Chocolate

See recently on Dairy Milk.

Can only be called Chocolate by the finest margin in UK, cant be called Chocolate in EU

Cadbury Dairy Milk isn't banned from being called chocolate, but recent recipe changes (adding palm oil/fillers) and rising cocoa costs have lowered its cocoa solids to 20%, right at the UK/Ireland legal minimum, causing confusion and leading some brands to use "chocolate flavour" or "chocolatey" labels, though Dairy Milk still meets the UK's 20% cocoa/20% milk solids rule and sells as "milk chocolate". The confusion arises because the EU requires 25% cocoa, so UK-style Dairy Milk would need a "family milk chocolate" label there, but in the US, it's fine at 10% cocoa.

Middlesbrough are main game on the Monday night before our game (2nd March vs Birmingham)

Do they put the same team as main game twice on the trot?

gutted we missed Burton

I remember the League Cup game there in 2014!!

I had a week that had been booked for a while in the Peak District and then we drew them out, so went along with the Mrs and kids!!!

Was pretty much sitting on the pitch as they had no barriers up in the seats!!

I just looked at the team we played that day and on paper it looks decent , we had 2 shots on target!!

Are blessed with VAR on Sunday

The rules of the game are not different, refs just get 'help' to apply 'correctly'

PS - I would hate VAR each week!

I am sure it will al work fine on the day.

Nardi Hamer what’s that all about?
at 08:59 6 Jan 2026

I got the sense that after great season at Stevenage in 24/25 and then a further loan to Barnsley that Murphy Cooper may be the future number 1. I haven't heard much about him this season though , last season (due to where he was) I was told most weeks how great he is.

We are not a TV game as they have been announced https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/fo

BBC shows 3pm Saturday but I did think they moved a fair few games to Sunday in the past.

Hamer - how was his debut?
at 13:42 9 Nov 2025

I agree re not knowing about the new rule. Couldn’t believe he said that in his interview. A professional goalkeeper and wasn’t aware! Makes me think he doesn’t watch much football as refs have been counting down on their fingers in most games all season!

That aside I thought he had a very good game.

Might just be me but I actually thought Dembele was really bright when he came on. Was beating players, drawing fouls and looked up for it. Unlucky with the shot as well.

Parking at Derby
at 13:01 21 Oct 2025

Last year I went and there was a Pay and Display around a few mins walk from the Harvester where R's fans met. (its on Hudson Road as just looked at map)

Cost about £5-6 from memory. There is also parking at the Harvester but limited spaces.

I have booked the non-official parking that looks to be about 20 mins away and costs a tenner, as from looking at it, I am hoping for a quicker getaway. yes its a 20 min walk, but last year it was probably a 10 min walk to the car from the ground and then I sat in a queue for an hour getting away.

There is restriced parking all down the road from Harvester, all the way to the ground, however those with a disabled parking permit parked along there and it was 'rammed' (excuse the pun!)
