They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment.
The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day.
Wonder what that’s all about?

According to the announcement though the exit clause is one sided in Hornets favour so wouldn't be instigated by the club.

Reading it Hornets have a very favourable, almost charitable level of rent of a decent stadium for that level of rugby. If it is instigated then it will be Mazey and co doing that and I'm sure they said when they came in in 2020 that they couldn't move the team or the ground.

Their big problem is there is no money in rugby league generally and certainly not low down in League 1, hence why the RFL are reorganising to 2 divisions of 10 in 2023 and displacing up to 17 teams in doing so.

Mazey confirmed on Twitter that a legally binding clause that the club couldn't be renamed or relocated was included as part of the takeover deal.

Tangled up in blue.

Looks like cw and Tyrone shoelaces have resorted to mocking people with mental health issues (general people, not me although that’s the insinuation) on the rugger forum. Tyrone, flower - learn how to construct a sentence, there’s a good lad.

Awful and frankly sick behaviour from so called adults.

Dreadful individuals, the lot of them. It's no surprise who and what they watch.

Undoubted knowledge? Or just the application of common sense and using my brain?

Andy Mazey has dispensed with the services of coach Matt Calland who has left Hornets by “mutual consent”. The usual euphemism for sacked.
Panic mode now.

11 wins from 15 games played and guaranteed play offs.

Brave timing to sack the coach.

Poll: What is it to be then?

Given the suicide rates amongst men in this country I’m genuinely shocked somebody could stoop so low. People can mock me all they want about most things (water off a ducks back) but that’s genuinely disgusting. Mocking mental health is a big no no and always should be.

In 1988 Hornets, Rochdale AFC and the council agreed a deal for Hornets to groundshare at Spotland after they sold their former home - the Athletics Ground - to Morrisons.

David Kilpatrick described it at the time as a marriage made in hell but an absolutely necessary one if the football club was to survive.

At first I think Hornets were generating some decent numbers, having a season in the top division and getting some really decent crowds.

Then things started to go wrong, and as Rochdale's board improved, so the club began to pick up more of the bills.

The working arrangement of shareholders was impossible and it seemed the council representative on the stadium co. board was overly sympathetic to Hornets.

Many Dale fans (wrongly, in my opinion) blamed rugby for ruining the pitch. I say wrongly because I think poor investment decisions on the pitch have been taken over the years, for whatever reason.

Eventually a deal was done for the football club to acquire 100% ownership of the stadium co in exchange for them paying a consideration to the council and taking on c. £600k of debt, which the current board has done an incredible job in ensuring it was paid off in full and several years early.

There was some bad feeling generated a couple of seasons ago when a home game against York was called off at very short notice, when the groundstaff cited health and safety issues with erecting the rugby posts. It was notable that Dale had a home game the following Tuesday, and had the posts been put up, as per normal after the Saturday's home game, the H&S issue would never have occurred.

Poll: What is it to be then?

It's hardly surprising Kel, having recently had some dialogue with AM (and a couple of "fans") the guys thicker than fog, and struggles to differentiate between to and too even...the whole clubs riddled with empty heads who literally take anything in he says

Just shows you how backward and stuck in the old days they are. They were probably booting in their teles last night over little women being allowed to play football.

I'm pretty sure that Andys Manclub is very big at Mayfield and guessing at Hornets too more so following the terrible passing of former Hornets player and Mayfield player/coach Steve Gartland...more surprising folk associated with them find mental health a thing to joke about.

I’m sure ‘cw25’ can back the following up with quotes…

“Have a wee look on the Rochdale AFC fan forum. Yes they have got one. Although it is more about Hornets and Bury. You get all the news from said 2. Some odd ones on there. Especially a Kel. This member is a fruitcake. Says to everyone that they are a kid, teenager. Basically someone else. Really made me laugh when it said, I will go to the Rugby, confront a person. But I might not because I am working. Like I say, Fruitcake !.”

No balls to say it on the Hornets forum so hides on the general egg chaser one instead. Right under his/her skin

If you take a look at the authors of these stupid posts you will find they have only been posting this year. They are not Hornets fans…..they are Mazeys cronies

CW25, Hornet etc etc.

Most of the real hornets fans have given up posting.

There were similar stupid posts on Hornets forums many years ago, long before this Mazey bloke appeared on the scene.

Most Dale fans who registered to argue our corner were very quickly banned.

Thanks for being transparent with your views about me and several others on this forum. No one can doubt your honesty - not too sure about other aspects of your character though.

Id love to know more about Rochdale Hornets of 150 years ago - my memory isnt as good as yours. It must have been a great time to be Hornets fan.
