Actually, this is the first time we have qualified properly. In 1958 some of the other teams refused to play Israel. Cut and paste below:
"Wales did not qualify as of right for the 1958 FIFA World Cup. Due to several countries refusing to play Israel, FIFA ordered that Israel should play a qualification playoff against one of the second placed European teams.Wales were the European team drawn and won the playoff against Israel.Wales performed well at the finals tournament, advancing to the quarter-final and giving eventual winners Brazil their toughest test of the competition."
Wales have now qualified twice at the expense of Israel. Yay. |  |

Yet we still qualified!. That's saying how good we've been at the back through the whole thing bar tonight. They'll score loads on Tuesday.
When the first Bosnia goal went in, my friend was saying "Oh sh *t, does that mean we are out!!", I then explained the situation as Cyprus were winning, then when the screen split in two to show the Israel goal, she shouted "What a goal!.... Who's that?", I then said "Israel", then she asked me " What does that mean?". I then said it means we will still go through then asked me the same question when Cyprus restored their lead. At 2-0 she shouted that expletive again and I said "Israel won't score two with the little time we have left!".
At full time in Israel (we were still playing), our celebrations went full throttle!!!!!!!. [Post edited 10 Oct 2015 22:42]

Funnily enough... I don't know if you remember this but although we got to the qtr finals ... Rudi fecking Glockner the ref knocked us out...
We still didn't make the finals because the finals was for only 4 teams.
