It still has its place, much of the reasons it was introduced are still valid today, maybe even more so. Some people abuse it in obviously, and things like this happen - but that has always been the case even back in those days.
Do you trust governments implicitly? After living in Victoria for a while I know I certainly don’t, what was inflicted on the people was bordering on Chinese dictatorship. People being attacked in the street by Government paid groups.
Look at what is going on in Russia. It’s not a million miles away from the imagination to see something like that happening in America. Especially with the more fat left policies trying to be put in place like an abolishment of the police force.
Look at what happened with the riots, a whole year of people burning down people’s homes and businesses, attacking others if they didn’t agree with you - which again is another far left thing which is starting to be fed into society and even at Government level with Bill C-16 which could be the tip of the iceberg.
I don’t have any issues with the second amendment really, I understand it’s purpose and it’s importance to people. But I do have issues with the mental health epidemic, lack of prosperity and decreased investment in policing.
All of the above have nose dived with this Democrat administration which of course was called long before it happened.
There are little things you can do with regards to extra checks and even tighter gun laws, but as Tummer says Chicago is one of the strictest places there is, Democrat run, and it still happens.
There is a myth that the second amendment is only protected by Republicans. There are more Democrats in the US than Republicans… yet the second amendment is still there. Go figure. | |
