That would be a good deal, if he works out we can buy him for a good amount next transfer window. If he fails we still have AM and FF pairing and we can just not buy him.

Anyway, this would get my vote. Former Inter captain, plenty of caps for Italy, only 28. Surely he must have something going for him.
I'm not sure those thinking he'll partner Mawson are on the mark though. My money's on FF being first choice. Mawson is doing very well but we have to remember where he's come from and it's a massive ask to expect him to keep up this level for the remainder of the season. |  |

From what I can gather he's effectively a player who is looking to get back to his best, not past it. In the last couple of seasons you'd say he's no different to VDH or Amat. Go beyond those past two seasons though and you have a definitive upgrade on any of our CBs. |  | | |
