Echo a bit hard on KWP 08:20 - Sep 6 with 1749 viewsBerber

‘Kyle Walker-Peters was nowhere to be seen at the back-post.“ having just described how it only took 12 seconds and 4 passes to carve the defence open. Did Alfie House not notice that it was KWP that slipped and was flat on the ground just outside their penalty area that gave them the break? Podence already had 6 or 7 metres on him before he even got up.

I am aware that Wolves were pressing that gap, simply because KWP is tasked to get forward and make a difference. So where was the midfield covering for him? Normally it would be JWP that KWP passes back to. Great as he is, he is often lacking at providing that cover for KWP.

KWP had to come over to try and stop the player in front of him nearest the ball who was unmarked, he couldn't mark both, we just got caught on the break, as we usually do against Wolves

We still need to find that sweet spot of attack versus defence. Attacking fullbacks are ok but defence should come first.
