I think it was a cross that he sort of fumbled on to the bar and the Arsenal player headed it in as it dropped off the bar, but I may be wrong, definitely he fumbled it on to the cross bar though and should have caught it or at least put it over |

Two days after the final Gennoe made another error to gift Arsenal an equaliser at the Dell and he was dropped for the replay at Highbury. he didnt play again that season but regained his place at the start of the next season, but was dropped within a couple of months and never played again, he did have a long career afterwards at Blackburn. Truth was I thought his timing coming off his line was suspect, something that Ted Bates also thought according to the Lawrie Mcmenemy book Diary of a season, his confidence was shattered at Wembley where nerves had clearly got the better of him |

Whats a few dozen people being made redundant if it means Pompey can avoid relegation |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey Caterers Go Bust at 21:37 18 Feb 2026
Not that guilty conscience, I meant that the rumour is that the caterers went bust after Pompey cancelled the game against Ipswich twice at short notice and that it left them with surplus stock and without the income unable to pay wages and suppliers. The whisper is that on one of the games at least, it was cancelled after Pompey had watered the pitch to ensure that it would not be passed fit as they had a big injury list |

Just seen an article in Facebook mentioning that back in March 1979 Saints played 3 important games in just 5 days, back then sides had a squad of about 15/16 not 24-30 as many in the top two divisions do these days. On Saturday 17th March we played Nottingham Forest at Wembley in the League cup final, losing 3-2 with Peach and Nick Holmes scoring for us. Just two days later on Monday the 19th we hosted Arsenal in the FA Cup Quarter final at the Dell drawing 1-1 Austin Hayes getting our goal and then just two later again on Wednesday the 21st we had the replay at Highbury going down 2-0. It didnt get any better though. on Saturday 24th we went to Bolton in the League and lost 2-0, the following Wednesday 28th March we drew 0-0 at Spurs and then on Saturday 31st March we drew 2-2 with Leeds at the Dell 6 games in just two weeks

Bristol City's last minute equaliser did us a favour, means that we are still only two points off the play offs all to play for against Charlton on Saturday. |

Who has bought one of the fake yellow shirts as worn on Saturday against Leicester and if so how much and from where did you get it |
 | Forum Reply | Northam Wall Sold Out For Charlton Game at 14:35 18 Feb 2026
Around 350 tickets sold since the original post two days ago, most parts of the ground quite full, around a 3rd of the 1,700 tickets left are in the Kingsland stand block next to the away fans |

They have even more injuries now, lose tonight and they are in big trouble, only saving grace for them might be the fact that both Sheffield Wednesday & Leicester have had points deducted and are in turmoil |

I agree with you both, I don't see Wreham as a fairytale story, but the tale of a couple of Americans who wanted a plaything who they could manipulate so they could make big bucks out of. They were a small team for years and with due respect Wrexham is a small place with a population of around 45,000., there is not too much surrounding it either, the nearest built up areas are Buckley & Mold about 10 miles away, but you arent adding much in the way of population to that perhaps 40,000. Chester is also close but that is very much English. At some stage TV will get bored of them as will their new found fans across the world and they will go back to being what they were, a small club with average crowds of around 5,000. Aside from them Ive never been fond of Coventry as I have alsways fond it a snidy sort of place and the same about Leicester |

He palyed 3 games for them after leaving Saints, in fairness he was 35 by then. When I looked him up I was surprised how old he was when he joined us, he was only a couple of months short of 32 years old. He had 3 years here making 58 League appearances |

Will we play in the Yellow ? its a bit light and might clash with their white ? We certainly can't play in our first team kit, I would suspect it will be either our normal yellow & blue striped away kit or the black third kit |
