This is a very reliable source isnt it, its a third hand story starting from the Athletic, they also claim he had more lucrative offers from MLS clubs. That should tell you something, £75k a week would have made him around the 4-5th highest paid player in the league, it is not a high paid league, last season there were only 72 players making 1 million dollars a year . It is not a league you go to if you want to make money, unless you are truly a David Beckham Google a few things before you try to make a point |

My point above was not aimed at any individual, just that over the past 8 years we have become a supporter base where a portion of that see every little issue and try to make it seem a massive one. |

Sometimes i think we need to get a reality check, Theo Walcott didn't cost us a penny in signing on fees, even if we are paying him £50k a week, that is only £2.5 million a year in wages. In Premier League terms peanuts, yes it hasn't been brilliant as he has played in just 9 League games, but we won 3 of those and drew 3, so 12 points out of those 9 games in total, So he has played a part, just not a big part, ironically since his last appearance on 9th Feb we have gone to the dogs , he became a bit of a scapegoat but to label him one of the worst decisions Ralph made is a little unfair, He was a cheap option that we needed to build up the squad a little at a time when we had no money for transfers |

Pompey were only one of a number of clubs who the Till I die song about 15 years ago, it was very much a Championship & lower league song back then and never caught on in the Premier League |

Give Hasenhuttl experienced coaching staff that he can consult and who can counsel him instead of two ex goalkeepers and another who has only coached at non league or youth level and we would see a big change |
 | Forum Reply | WTF does this mean? at 10:44 11 May 2022
Essentially what we have done for the last 60 years, so who would you suggest we get, owners like Burnley who leverage the club up with debt ? owners like Newcastle who are tainted with blood ? Owners like Chelsea and Abramovich ? Truth is there are at least 7 clubs far richer than the rest and then the likes of Everton & Villa who spend a lot but spend it badly |

There are plenty of incompetent refs that is for sure, but even Mike Dean doesn't cheat, he is just poor, very poor. But the debate here is about abusing referees, yes players should be allowed to question, but they should not be allowed to abuse, I agree with Elijah the issue is they seem to be told to ignore it rather than deal with it, if they started to be stricter and consistent in being so, then the problem would go away completely. Likewise diving, with VAR we should be able to deal with players on the spot and book them for diving, we should also impose retrospective viewing of incidents where a player has looked to secure an advantage by cheating ie diving and impose bans, again that would stop the diving overnight. In the main though how can you expect players to be respectful when they have managers like Moyes who shows even more petulance |
 | Forum Reply | Rice to be suspended for 3 game European ban at 09:02 11 May 2022
In all the games that I have played I have only once thought the ref cheated, they should not be abused by players no matter what level they are at |
 | Forum Reply | WTF does this mean? at 08:52 11 May 2022
It means exactly what they said when they arrived, that they wont be spending £50 million on a player etc, but will be fine tuning the system Saints have been running for the last 60 years. That of finding players under the radar and cheaply and eventually selling them on to fund further purchases. This is the only way we can survive in the Premier League, even if we spent £200 million this summer this would probably only see us vying for 8th place, so for most clubs big spending is a wate of time, they can't match the spending and pulling power of what was the top 6 and now with Newcastle is becoming 7. |

Agreed, but those around her perhaps need to persuade her to take a step back |

Reed & Burton were a different generation to Waterman, Depp though used drugs heavily and has been quite violent over his entire career, however alcohol has also been involved |

I do see that point of view and I'm sure that is the reason, but I also feel it is counter productive in that it now suddenly puts pressure on him from the fans expectations |

1. The ground was small and hemmed in with poor access for away fans as well as having to enter and leave in a cramped area with home fans behind the goal. 2. The price of a pint in and around the ground was attrocious, a pub next to Brentford's old ground Griffin Park was £6.50 a pint. 3. Transport links are very good to the ground both by road and by train, although on Saturday the easiest route for us was closed for railworks 4.Brentord fans are a pretty innoffensive lot, but they have attracted a lot of fans who werent going regularly before Covid 19 and their rise. 5.The view from the away section was quite good due to the steepness of the terraces, far better than Arsenal for instance |

The queen will miss it, at 96 I'm not sure that she has the health anymore to be able to take on Royal duties,, whatever you think of Prince Charles and the monarchy, I think it is time to step down before she is worked to death |
 | Forum Thread | Tyler Dibling at 09:12 10 May 2022
I dont think it was a good move to put him on the bench on Saturday, the game always had the possibility to go pear shaped so he was never going to get on. But it has put a lot of weight on his shoulders now, some will be demanding he play either in the last two games and then next season, when perhaps he is not ready yet still being only 16 and only playing a few games for the academy sides, He should have been allowed to develop out of the limelight, all he has done so far is score 1 hat trick, still a long way to go yet |

Within the next few weeks I suspect there will be a clamour for him to be appointed Saints boss, a job that will suit him very well as he likes to live in Bournemouth |

Quite a lot of famous actors seem to have this wild streak in them, Oliver Reed, Richard Burton, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp to name just a few from over the decades |

Agreed that was a stain on his career, as an actor he was typecase as the cockney hardman, but he has been a child actor and also played in Royal Shakespeare Company productions and other stage productions throughout his career as well as other film and seried on tv. He will always be remembered for the two roles in the Sweeney & Minder. |

Good luck to Brighton and of course Bournemouth who have relegated you to 4th position on the south coast, oops sorry my mistake Plymouth finished above you and next season Exeter join you. In the past 60 years Pompey have spent 8 seasons in the top flight and have now just celebrated their 10th in a row in the bottom 2 divisions. Saints have spent that same number in our first spell in the top flight in 66-74, then we spent another 26 years in the second and now we have just completed our 10th, thats 44 years as a top flight club. Brighton have just completed their 8th season in the top flight and are already assured of their 9th, so they are above you Bournemouth have done 5 in the top flight so far and are now back for a 6th, if they stay up for another 4 years even they will be above you. It is a Pompey thing about thinking they are sleeping giants, Huddersfield don't hark on about 3 consecutive titles back in the 1920's, likewise all those Northern clubs who won titles & cups back then. I think Pompey have had 36 seasons in the top flight correct me if im wrong, the next accolade they will get will be when the milk Marketing board uses them in an advert If you dont drink your milk you'll only be as good as Portsmouth Portsmouth !!!! Who are they !!!! Exactly !!!! |

I havent defended Ralph at any point , I have just pointed out the facts as I see them, tell me where you think Im wrong and i am happy to listen and debate them but to just demand the sacking of a manager without looking at the big picture is also ridiculous. To blindly demand he be sacked without looking at that picture is short sighted, I'm not defending Raplp, im just putting the bigger picture, if we had won the last two games then we would now be 10th battling Brighton for 9th, that is after an awful run in the past 10 games. So Ralph must have been doing something right in the previous 26 games that we play so badly but still could finish 11th or 12th even now. We have to look at what has gone wrong, has Ralph selected the wrong teams,? in the main no, the team that lost to Chelsea was just about the best side we could have put out. Has he told around 5 players to go out there and go from playing out of their skin to being attrocious, did he tell Broja to not score again in the Premier League this season after February 9th when he scored his last league goal ? Would another manager have done better ? After the game on Saturday various people told me we should get Bielsa or Dyche, two managers that have done far worse than us this season |
