Will Russell Martin Be The 7th Manager In A Row Hounded Out Of Southampton on 13:39 - Sep 26 with 1062 views | saints__fan__73 | More utter gibberish from you Nick. I genuinely think you are losing the plot. I guess that is what happens when you have painted yourself into a corner and now cannot find a way to voice any criticism of those running the club despite the fact that the club is being destroyed by those who own it. All 6 of the managers who proceeded Martin were sacked due to results on the pitch and had zero to do with fan hounding. If/when Martin is sacked it will be down to results on the pitch which is fair. [Post edited 26 Sep 2023 13:40]

Actually you are wrong, Claude Puel was not sacked for anything to do with results, as you will have read in the article, he had just delivered a season unarguably in the top 10 in terms of achievement in the 132 years of history at the time and certainly nothing since has bettered it

Puel was sacked for results. He got 17 fewer points than we did the season before. He won less home games than Hull City. Who were relegated.

Whether you get fewer points than the last season or not is of no consequence, it is about where you sit in the table, Pep Guardiola does not care whether he gets less home points than anyone else as long as he finishes above everyone.

That's utter rubbish Nick. That season was an anomaly in the PL in that everyone was beating everyone and getting in the low 40s was enough to finish 8th. Our points total under Puel would have been enough for 13th last season.

Winning the league is not the first one to 90 points, it varies every season, Manchester City got 89 points last season that wouldn.t have won them the League the season before that. Yet last season they not only won the league but the European Cup, the best season in their history, yet by your reckoning they are a team in decline

Your defence of the club is getting more lunatic by the day Nick. Which ever way you cut it, getting 46 is not a particularly good season, especially considering the year before we were in the 60s and qualified for Europe. Ralph got 3 points less than that to finish 15th and don't think anyone thought this was a good season. [Post edited 26 Sep 2023 16:16]

The owners of the club since Kat took control have never put the fans opinions on the table, despite the vacuous slogans. [Post edited 28 Sep 2023 8:02]

Will Russell Martin Be The 7th Manager In A Row Hounded Out Of Southampton on 16:52 - Sep 26 with 755 views | PaleRider | The only contentious sacking, in my mind , was Puel. Nobody seems to cut him any slack, which seems unfair given what came later! The others, including Ralph, were sacked for poor performance- simples! Arguably, Ralph should have gone earlier - either after one of the 2 9-0's or at the end of his penultimate season. To suggest managers were "hounded" out (except for maybe Puel) is nonsense.
