getting to the ground is fun i hear as you cannot go thru westfield , how do their security know you are not a shopper? so most have a 15-20 min walk, from stations.

I’ve been to the Olympic ground a few times. You can walk through the shopping centre to the ground or there is a walkway round the side of it. All I know is I never want to be in that type of ground in the future. Would have been great to be going to the Boleyn this weekend. Remember the South Bank there and the old Chicken Run. | | | |

West Ham are playing Forest Tuesday night which feels like a 6 pointer fixture. I think they are then playing Spuds the week after the cup game, so I think they will rest a few for that.
Rumours that Nuno could get the sack if things do not go well on Tuesday, so that might impact their team for Sunday.
Lots of hope for a 3rd round FA Cup win, but realistically normal service will resume and we lose. Will be a good day out anyway. Early start in West India Quay Weatherspoons then short trip on DLR to Pudding Mill Lane.
They close gates in Westfield so people cannot access the Olympic Park near The Cow pub and send away fans the long way round. I work in Stratford and there is nowhere decent to drink. If you do travel into Stratford then I suggest jumping on the DLR heading to Lewisham and getting off at Pudding Mill Lane (Near Abba Voyage) as easiest way to get to away seating
Expect an hour wait to get back into Stratford after the game. Will be like the old days of trying to get into Upton Park Tube station |  | | |

Perfect game for a 25 minute Smyth cameo too (just please, Julien, never start him, it doesn't work). Plus the energy off the bench of Morgan, the know-how of Hayden. We have a huge chance here, let's not blow it.

Yeah, the injuries (especially to Burrell) have dampened things a tad. Was looking forward to hopefully seeing him run at them.
Really don't know how it could pan out. I've already explained to my son that we are playing a PL team so kind of getting the excuses in early if we do end up losing!
I'm going there with a view that if we lose it's kind of expected (for so many reasons) and not going to be too despondent about it. BTW - I'm not being defeatist before anyone tries to jump down my throat!

This game probably depends on how serious West Ham take it, regardless of how it is for them at the moment, they are still a level above us. We were further weakened with injuries against Sheffield Wednesday and that may well influence how we approach the game. We have a chance as long as we turn up, but I still think if we show our sloppy away approach which we have been doing since Norwich away we will get beaten. | | | |

My thoughts on the West Ham game is to ask questions of the LFW population as this board has so many knowlegeable members! Any advice will be gratefully received.
1) Possibly the most important is. Do we need to find a watering hole outside of Stratford? I know we've been advised to, but is it necessary?
2) As we have bus replacement on Greater Anglia services, I'm yet to decide whether to drive to Shenfield or Gants Hill. Is their still free road parking available at Gants Hill on the side roads? I suppose this question could also apply to Fairlop or Hainault.
3) If I'm using the Central Line, is it better/quicker to walk to Leyton after the game than use Stratford?

I told a Whammer I know we sold out our 9000 allocation in a couple of hours, so he trotted out the usual “Well, it’s a cup final for you, innit”. I just told him that the 3rd round usually is for us, whoever we play.
Not as if we won’t be going back next season, by the looks of it. We think we’re a basket case, but Sh-t atmosphere aside, even we would struggle to fck up a situation where we’d been given a 60,000 seater stadium for nothing, fill it most weeks and still get relegated.

Remembering last year Kolli came on after 28 minutes for Lloyd. Varane scored from a Kolli pass for 1-1. Then I think errors led to some of their goals but Kolli scored in first half added time to make it 3-2 at half time.
In the second half we gave away a penalty for 4-2 and they went on to fill their boots.
With Burrell probably out and a week on the training ground, it's a good time to put three in centre midfield. Smyth should play at least the second half but should be on the right. Ideally Chair on the left, or Kolli if fit otherwise Saito. Kone the lone striker. | | | |
