I was out and about with family and trying to work out what was going on by looking at BBC Sport now and again. That told me that the Rangers XG was 0.1 in the 1st half (with no shots on target) and not much more at the 80th minute in the 2nd.
I put my phone away and drove 30 mins home. I could barely believe the FT score when I read it.

Mugged this game off... and watched it from the comfort of home... but was getting regular updates from family who went... which as now persuaded me to go to Southampton... if brains was dynamite and all that.....
Being of a certain vintage I loved the reference and images drawn of all these IT bods in the backroom pouring over stats and reporting on why this happened and why this didn't
God knows what they would have made of the Rodney Marsh goal against Birmingham when he took on the whole defence single handed... with his back to goal... or when Stan use to pontificate about what part of the net he wanted to nestle the ball into.... before deciding to perhaps go back and beat the defender again... just for giggles
So pleased I was able to enjoy those players... and all the other mavericks we have had at this club...

Excellent report, caught the moment brilliantly.
I’d made my peace with this season, safe at the end of Feb, the suns got to come out at some point, two months bathing in the warmth of spring in SAR where the results don’t matter.
Then comes Bennies shot. Lifted me off the sofa, frightened the life out my dozing wife, that’s what I want from football. I’d almost forgot.

It was a performance and result which gave me renewed confidence that this team can and should finish top half, and that the play offs remain a possibility. Who knows what might have been possible without so many injuries.
One minor criticism: Varane came on and, I think, he played every single pass backwards. It didn’t matter, given the goals and how open Hull were as they pushed for an equaliser. However, I’d really like him to embrace the “F*ck it. Why not?” mentality when it comes to playing a few progressive passes.
I also thought Vale made a big difference. I still don’t think he’s a winger - he’s not quick enough - and he’s certainly not a right winger. But he is a good footballer. He has a bit of quality. If Madsen was to leave or become injured, I’d try him in that role. |  | | |

Agree about Vale and about him replacing Madsen which, in my worst nightmare happens before the start of next season. Bit harsh on Varane though, he did play one long forward punt…. didn’t go 20 yards within a rangers player. | | | |

I mentioned this on another thread, Vale is the only one with the forward passing and intelligence to play that deeper playmaking role other than Madsen. Doesn't shirk a 50/50 either and is deceptively tall for a player of his profile. |  | | |

That performance was a complete opposite of the stodgy away performance since Norwich in November. For a change QPR attacked the home team and hopefully will continue to play this way in the remaining fixtures. There isn’t much to lose by going out for 3 away points.
As for Bennie , that was some way to silence his critics (me included). Maybe he can play as a second striker rather than out wide. That goal should have boosted his confidence. | | | |

I only saw the last half an hour live but watched the whole game yesterday, thought we were a lot more positive in the first half than we have been in recent weeks and were a big threat second half with the press from the front really causing them problems as it did in the home game.

I'd seen a few Bennie goals online and was shouting shoot at the stream, when he found himself in space. Great strike.
A bit disappointed with Kolli's decision making when he passed to an obviously offside Kone.
Brilliant finish from Kone, Burrell hasn't taken all his opportunities this season either and even Erling Harland misses chances! Good strikers keep their heads and know another will be along soon.
