We need players that can do three games a week, it's as simple as that. The majority of our players are not up to it. You can count on one finger the number of our players who are up to it - Jimmy Dunne. No-one else in the club has proved themselves at being able to do it.

Where do we find such players ?

I have seen that quite a few of the clubs in the Championship have a large contingent of Scandinavian players - Blackburn, Southampton etc

Is that where we need to be looking ?

At some point though the common thread is not the players we're signing it's our ability to have them fit enough to meet the standard. That falls on our fitness team

I would question whether a huge number of our players have got it in them to do three games a week regularly. You can have all the sports science in the world but if a player doesn't have the physical or mental strength then I would say that it's at the hands of the due diligence team.

Personally, I think this whole '3GW' syndrome, is a load of ol' bollox!

While I've one of the many on here who have reservations about the effectiveness of our fitness and medico-rehab set-up, playing three games some weeks, is hardly being on the frontline in the Ukraine!

The fact we can't seem to handle it, is as much down to mindset as it muscles. The solution is where the problem begins: from within!
