All I hear is "last pay day" and "mercenary" etc. Ings is not a Saints fan, that is media fabrication, but if we, as fans, want a proven [Premier League] goal scorer then Ings should be one of the first names on the scouting sheet that is achievable.
The bloke left to get as much money as possible before retiring, so what. He'd come back, score 10-15 goals and you'll all love him like the fickle fans we all are.
Back to my "football is broken" comment. Average young player being sold for £58m? F**k off. Ridiculous.
Shearer - obvious talent, scoring 1 in 3 roughly in the top flight for a couple of years. £3m or so.
Rooney - obvious talent, scoring 1 in 4 in the top flight, £20m or so for an 18 year old.
Broja - average in an average team, 6 goals. £58m. Had he scored 6-9 goals a season for 3 or 4 years, maybe that inflation would be right, but, 1 season, 6 goals.
I spent years in the 90s and 2000s following this club up and down the country. I was 1 of about 200 people at Middlesbrough one year and have followed this club for years up and down the country.
My love of Saints hasn't lessened that much, but my love of football and the top flight in particular has plummeted to a new low. I haven't had a season ticket for a few years, but last year I never went to a single game. I don't miss it. Family life is too important but football in general has taken a turn for the worse in my view.
My parents said tonight "did you watch the match?" - honestly I didn't know there was a match. I preferred to spend my time walking the dog and pottering in the garden.
I was one of the first on, ran straight into Germaine Wright and said "you're a legend". He looked at me like I was mad, said "really?" (or similar) and walked off.
1. The very first graph does not have a consistent scale, it tells you nothing 2. When talking about vaccinated vs unvaccinated, he is showing numbers (absolutes) rather than percentages of each demographic, which tell you the real picture 3. The "models" do not show the impact on the health service if no one was vaccinated. It would be f**ked. But there is no A/B test possible to show that.
He's yet another person attempting to be clever, showing stats in a way that suits the narrative (and that is an art) but anyone who knows about stats can see through the bull.
Get vaccinated. Wear a mask. End of story. Lockdowns will be pointless as no one will obey them this time and also, not needed if everyone just wore a f**king mask and those that needed a vaccine got a vaccine or 3.
I'm sick of anti vaccinated, anti mask and generally people being selfish pricks and posting drivel on these forums. So I'm going to flounce off and leave you all too it now.
Just looking at that thread and I saw this bollocks from some "professor";
"We have 50,000 people walking around who have cancer but don't know it because of the disruptions.
That number is only going to increase over the coming months.
The lack of attention on the cancer crisis is wrong."
THIS is scaremongering bull, never mind people getting wound up about covid vaccinations, the NHS are NOT preventing other serious illnesses being checked out.
I know. I found something, phoned up my GP, was seen the next day and have now seen 3 doctors and had a biopsy (on Monday). Sorry, but this crap on social media just annoys me.
What don't people understand? Being vaccinated prevents hospitals being completely overwhelmed. If no one was vaccinated, hospitals would be completely overwhelmed and THEN other illnesses wouldn't be addressed as there would actually then be no capacity.
I would be surprised if they got any properly decent players. A few mercenaries after a bigger pay packet who don't gel into the team (which is already poor) and run a mile from a proper relegation fight ... I think the writing is on the wall personally.
