The tragi comedy continues. I’d enjoy it but for the fact this clown is destroying the country and peoples lives. He won’t resign as he is way too arrogant. Odds on he won’t only lead the Tories into an election disaster but in the process will become the first sitting PM to lose his own seat.

If it’s private and non abusive then it would be difficult. Potentially could still be asked questions if an employer had legitimate concerns about those views and whether they reflected their core values. Loads of people have got into all sorts of problems on social media when things get out into the public domain. Matts views were all out there so Sky and Saints raised concerns.

No. But if that employee as a representative of the company went on social media or any other public platform and said they disagreed with wearing a poppy and the whole remembrance events then an employer would be entitled to raise concerns.

As for the wearing a pride badge someone else raised. Of course an employee could say they don’t want to wear one and an employer would be expected to respect that. If that same employee then went on social media espousing views in contrast to their employers values then they may be asked to explain them and potentially face disciplinary action.

When he starts rambling on about living in a totalitarian state it’s totally embarrassing. Doesn’t he realise he is free to say what he likes when he likes. A totalitarian state would either put him in prison or worse if he said anything out of line.

That isn’t correct. As an employee you will be expected to adhere and support the values of your employers when acting in the public domain. I have been involved with cases where people have been dismissed from jobs for posting views on social media that are in direct contrast to employers statement of purpose or values. If Matt refused to endorse something his employer were promoting then they are perfectly entitled to take action against him.

Not sure if it’s the same one but I saw an interview with Matt where he briefly outlined the reasons behind the Sky sacking. He said he didn’t agree with wearing the Black Lives Matter logo and that he was told his social media views were in contrast to Skys and that they felt it was harming their reputation. Matt made an interesting point about Sky continuing to employ someone like Carragher who spat at a girl out of his car. He also referred to Sky wanting to be more representative and referred to ‘diversity and all that stuff’ which I thought showed a lack of understanding and awareness of issues.

I don’t agree with him and think his views are at best ill informed. He also didn’t seem to understand that when you are employed by someone you have to adhere to their policies.

We have an experienced keeper. He’s shite. This lad is leaving Man City because he wants to be first choice. Anything is an upgrade on McCarthy.

Cinema chains have now pulled this movie fearing for the safety of both customers and staff. I remember the protests at Life of Brian but freedom of the arts prevailed. Not anymore it seems.

Boris Wins Confidence Vote
at 21:42 6 Jun 2022

Johnson epitomises everything that is wrong with politics and parliament. There are currently just under 60 MPs being investigated for misconduct with the vast majority being of a sexual nature. There are 2 bye elections coming up. One because the sitting MP is now in jail for a sexual assault and the other because another MP was caught watching porn whilst at work. This just a few years after they were all caught fiddling their expenses. The Chancellor ffs has been caught avoiding paying tax.

It’s time to shut the bars and drop the public school japes with all the false belly laughter and over inflated sense of their own importance. And start with the clown at the top.

Trouble at Wembley, England fans are scum
at 07:27 29 May 2022

I can’t believe what I’m hearing this morning. Yes there were genuine Liverpool fans who had tickets who couldn’t get into the game. The responsibility lies with those who bought fake tickets or tried to get in without one. Funny there was no trouble at the Real Madrid end. It’s always someone else’s fault. It’s not just Liverpool the same applies to England fans and the Wembley fiasco. Self entitled pricks who are quick to blame everyone else for their own moronic behaviour.

It sounds like the stuff we were doing with the Dell for years. Tinkering around with an old ground that, despite its history, has had its day. If you want to progress you will have to build a soulless bowl like lots of other clubs. Sad demise of the old traditional grounds but they are no longer fit for purpose.

Pathetic manager

Not Dyche for me. Burnley were awful to watch. Old school long ball stuff. With the links at Saints not sure if we could poach the Brentford manager. Failing that the Forest manager has done well. Eddie Howe might be shoved out at Newcastle if they want a bigger name to attract top players.
