Lay down and die attitude from players and management tonight. I hear a mass boycott for the Stoke game has been suggested !! :-) |

Let's face it, everyone was absolute shit tonight - from Keeper to forward, from Manager to Coach Driver. The game plan was to clearly bore Leicester into submission with all that sideways and backwards passing and it back-fired royally. So much so, that we were still doing it at 2-0 and 3-0. We can only hope that Downes is being saved for the Play-Offs. WBA successfully attacked Leicester with pace at the weekend - what do we do, fanny about with it in our own half and produce nothing. Did we note this ? No. We could have put Sulemana on to terrorise Vesti who was on a yellow, but no, we put on Lightweight Dozie 'I don't know the offside rule'. Enough said. |

Pathetic display from everyone. Can't even get the basics right. Nobody looks interested despite being now 4 down. Dozie can't even stay onside FFS. 3rd choice keeper - that's why !! Fvckin embarrassing Leicester and Ipswich did the double over us - gifted 12 points to our rivals RM is to blame. Poor selection and poor subs. He never learns despite saying he would. |

Offside We are so slow and jaded Everyone looks uninterested and nobody wants to drive us forward, despite being behind. |

It is quite laughable that over the season, RM has continually said that they will learn from these games that end in defeats, or dropped points, but the same thing continues to happen. |

I can only hope that we are saving Downes for the inevitability of the play-offs ? Hopefully Stu will be back for them too, otherwise our midfield could be without it's best 2 performers. Oh and a 3rd choice keeper between the sticks !! |
| Forum Reply | 3 reasons why we will not get promoted at 17:50 20 Apr 2024
1. We often don't kill teams off when we are on top 2. We often gift teams soft goals and that changes the whole game - usually for the worse 3. We didn't sign the quality keeper and striker that we have needed all season |

To be fair, it took a big deflection of Bednarek. Our failure to convert even the simplest of chances has cost us yet again. Sure we should have scored 5 or 6 at ease, but it shows that our 2 season long weaknesses prevail. Despite being joint top scorers in the league, we regularly fail to kill games off, present teams with an easy goal, we panic and then too often end up losing or drawing. A Arm, S Arm, Adams, Brooks, Aribo, Smallbone all missed excellent chances today. Oh for a quality striker and Goalkeeper. |

....and now Stu been stretchered off, so could be out for the remaining games - but hopefully not the play-offs |
| Forum Reply | New keeper at 15:56 20 Apr 2024
If we'd had a decent keeper this season, we would probably have already been promoted by now. Baz is out til Feb McCarthy's contact expires in June Lumley apparently wants out in the summer, after being dropped on Tues. Looks like we'll be signing a couple of keepers this summer. .....but please don't extend McCarthy's contract. |

HT - Saints 1-0 up Should quite easily be 3 or 4, but some woeful finishing. Really need to kill the game off early in the 2nd half. |

Previous performances have proved Smallbone ain't great in a DM role. Hopefully he proves people wrong today. A pity WBA couldn't get a result today. Created loads and deserved something - so bodes well for us on Tuesday. Ref was poor and gave lots of key decisions Leicester's way, including the dodgy penalty. |

We can only play against what they put in front of us, but as is usual practice in these situations, manager mind games often paint similar pictures - only for players to make dramatic recoveries. We definitely have the players to win today. Let's hope they are up for it and can put the game to bed in the first half like we did on Tuesday night. |

No, what is embarrassing is that they even had 4 seasons in Division 4 and have been in the lower 2 tiers for what, 13 seasons ? All that time bar this season, we have been in the Prem and have even qualified for Europe, yet you say that is complete lack of ambition. |

Was hoping for another 500-1,000 fans to attend, but appreciate it was a rescheduled game, midweek and our 3rd home game in 8 days. Quite fitting that we managed to score during that minute of applause for Joe. The atmosphere was almost family like at times, perhaps too nice, but then we were winning at a canter, so it was somewhat fitting that everyone in every stand was getting involved. |

Goalkeeper's Union. They don't mind - they all want everyone to play / do well (allegedly). I'm sure the £20k a week we pay Lumley will help him get over it |
| Forum Reply | Manning at 13:54 17 Apr 2024
Think it would have been his 2nd Yellow, so the ref bottled it. The Preston manager obviously realised this and subbed the player straight after. I thought Manning did well, but to be honest, this was the perfect match for us to bring him in, as the opposition offered very little attacking threat. (1 shot all night, plus a couple of blocked shots I think). Going forward, he made some good runs and linked up well with A Arm, but our left side works better when Fraser is there instead. My only criticisms of Manning were that his final ball was sometimes lacking - a few times Che and others were even pointing to where they wanted the ball, but he ignored them and crossed to nobody at the back stick, or directly to the keeper - and his reluctance to shoot - especially in 2nd half there was plenty of opportunity, but he always passed instead. When he finally shot, he was inches wide, so perhaps it was a confidence or responsibility issue. He did well, but ultimately for him and indeed the whole team, it will probably be a bigger test on Saturday. |
