Unrealised add-ons are a non-cash item but are considered at point of acquisition. |

And statements like these illuminate exactly why if you catch Hoos at the right time he will admit they’re far from happy with his performance as CEO. A key component of any effective C-suite member is the ability to acknowledge when things haven’t gone to plan and communicate a strategy to rectify them. The Comical Ali style insistence that our reality is imagined and all is bang on target is completely counterproductive and just destroys your credibility on the (few) occasions you’re telling the truth. There is a well established reason that medium sized businesses don’t appoint people in their mid 20s to executive positions based upon their well connected parents’ black books. |

Me and Westbourne are talking about him joining us on a free. |

Yes, as said in the Field thread earlier this week, the plan was to get Morgan out playing games which would’ve been great for him but they had to pivot when Norwich made a good offer and Field wanted the move. On no incoming loans, purely my opinion but I think it was a mix of lack of funds but more lack of an obvious move to make - we could do with a proper RB but Mbengue, Dunne and Edwards can suffice for the rest of this season, you could make a case for a young backup CF with Burrell out for a little while and now Obikwu also, and they might have gone for that if they’d managed to get Kolli out, but it was far from a desperate need and any young PL striker wouldn’t be sent to warm the bench anyway. Better to keep your powder dry. |

He was free Bri - Antwerp waived any fee in return for him tearing up his deal there. [Post edited 5 Feb 9:31]

I mean in fairness the plan was to loan out Morgan but a good offer came in for Field and they had to pivot, especially as Field wanted to go and play. There seems to be a general underestimation of how much they’ve spent and the need to recover funds. |

I mean insinuating Cook might be even 1% responsible for Kakay playing in the Slovakian leagues is certainly an opinion…. |

As others have said, some good, some extremely bad. Blacklisting loyal fans like Norf for not toeing party lines and refusing access to media who won’t act as personal PR plus a total blind spot to his mate Williams and the issues he’s causing around the club being his two most egregious errors. FWIW, *allegedly* (important to add) his position as ‘CEO’ at least is substantially more precarious than you might imagine. |

Late to the party, but to echo what other have said, a great guy off the pitch - you won’t find anyone at the club with anything but positive things to say about him, and he’s been extremely supportive of the younger players in the squad. Obviously on the pitch it was all a bit uncomfortable watching after his initial 6 months but you never got the impression he ever gave less than 100% and he also has left a lot of money on the table to go and play every week. Can we have 11 of these characters on the pitch please. |

With two huge payoffs in 7 months I imagine the next place he goes will be a 7* resort somewhere hot! |

It’s been inevitable for weeks - now the third manager they’re simultaneously paying not to manage them. Hiding to nothing job ultimately - their fans think they’re a top 6 PL side while they’re languishing in the championship mid table with a points deduction on the way and a lazy squad of players on huge salaries. |

Of course there is more than one reason, but they all stemmed from the same issue - Mbengue had a meltdown and got himself sent off. Obviously the manager takes a huge part of the blame for not having taken him off when he’s been a walking red card for 6 months and also for his immediate reaction being putting Bennie in at RB but of course the players, many very experienced and extremely well paid, let themselves down completely by not taking any personal responsibility to see the game out. |

Even without the brain like a goldfish with late stage dementia, a serious discussion should’ve been planned for the summer anyway. Gives his all but never a full back at this level and 5th choice CB now - would’ve been 6th choice if Morrison hadn’t asked to leave - there needs to be some deep thinking as to how/if we move forward with him. I hope not, it would be stupid even for this club. But 1 win in 8 would be firmly in the hot seat at any other club where the self proclaimed boy wonder hadnt tied his future career to your success, and had the same boy wonder linking us to Gregory fcking Vignal on his own blog, and getting overruled when he tried to sack the manager when it happened last season… [Post edited 24 Jan 17:14]

I’m just glad this manager is the one ‘the Lionel Messi of boardrooms’ has tied himself to. 1 win in 8 for many previous managers would’ve had the expensive PR agencies bots on here telling us we need to make a change to get back to the good old days of Bobby Z in the 89th. |

They had a mid table championship wage bill already back in L2……they’re absolutely going to be right at the top of the table now on wages. As you say, the goal will be for the owners to unwind their positions in tranches and get down to a ‘vocational’ shareholding without it falling apart. As others have said though, the whole thing is underpinned and funded by companies jumping on the hypewagon and getting huge exposure through the tv show. If/when the Hollywood guys wind down their involvement and Disney disappear they will need to find someone willing to take over United’s £10m+ per season shirt sponsorship or they’ll inevitably fall back through the leagues. |

I’d be a bit surprised if Nardi was willing to move in January as he can secure a nice signing on fee back home in the summer. |
