QPR in recent decades seem to have had difficulties in acquiring the number nines and we are not alone in this. England's Harry Kane has no real ready made replacements, at all.
Case in point, false nines can be used. Messi, being the ultimate hero. Charlie Austin, first time around, probably our last effective nine.
The games changed but ultimately the game still requires your team to score more than theirs. Haaland being the ultimate nine currently. And when he was rested recently, City played what is known now as the false 'nine' with Phil Foden in position.
Would love it, if we ever found the ultimate nine - the ever elusive missing piece of the jigsaw. Seems they are very sparse in todays markets. When we tried to accomodate two up top with Burrell and Kone, it worked.
Dont have kids myself but is this the same in kids football or even on the Sunday League grounds too. The 'nine' certainly seems to be a dying breed today. Even our dedicated stats team seem to have found the target man that finishes off the moves, ever elusive.
What I would say though is, we have only played poorly ie the last game. And this forum can generally be very reactive to the last game. Yes, the injuries are an issue, but currently we have done ok this season in games.
I dont think at all, its time to be calling for Nourry's head etc. Appreciate the want and need to be in the play offs and the total frustration with injuries, but so far the squad has dealt with them ok. If we beat Swansea on Saturday, there will be nothing spoken about Nourry, but the club and team will be praised.
My view re the Performance team is much the same as others on here.
But we are currently nineth and yes can appreciate also some games have been kind but we could have easily got more out of games against West Ham and Middlesborough.
The time for calling for Nourry's head is far from now, and yes the injury situation is farcical, but the squad depth is much improved, and we can cope with many injuries, which is a positive. The direction appears upwards.
The likelihood is even if we get in the play offs this season, we wont go up. One in six chance at best. For me, the injuries is the only area where we have failed to improve during Nourry's time here.
Three years ago we were being beaten most games at home by three to nil, with the oldest squad in the league and playing the worst football, I have ever seen at the club in fifty years of following the team. Now we have one of the youngest squads and at times have played some very decent football.
For me, this all needs some perspective. The club has improved massively since tbe nadir of Ainsworth's team and we were heading for League One and total oblivion.
After some bad news and bad performances, there are always calls on here for Nourrys head. When we win, its others that get the praise and he doesnt even get mentioned.
Lets not immediately predict darkness forevermore.
Test cricket is by far the more interesting and intriguing game.
I think because so many players and teams can get boundary after boundary, which is probably more down to the talent and abilities of the players, as some of them like Brook make it look too easy, so one day cricket can appear very simple.
Test cricket though agree is more the grand masters of chess tournaments, by way of comparison.

The numbers and stats are totally wild, compared to those of us, who watched county cricket in the 70s and 80s. Chris Tavare possibly might not get a look in at international level anymore. In fact, I think I would get more game time chances than Tavare today.
Its a different game though now and one day cricket more resemblant to baseball than first class cricket of old. Buy even by todays standard, some innings by Brook.
Obikwu has he had enough time to get get himself in peak condition for a first team appearance.
We.dont want him coming on, only to pick up another five month delay in his rehabilitation.
Its ok. He is in the hands of experts and is facing an elite rehab regime and should be available to play three games in 2027, but he needs to be reintroduced slowly so we start with three 5 minute cameos to start.
Its a tough workload for the modern day professional these days and this has to be approached in the right way without overloading players so that they do not pick up any further issues down the line.
Appreciate the risky recruitment shots in the dark that are not.currently.working but forgetting this first, would a different performance team provide better outcomes for our current squad.
This needs to be assessed and if its deemed different approaches shown from the rehab tesm etc, could get better outcomes for availability with our squad, as is, then we need to immediately take action.
For me four years is long enough time of failure on this, to bring in change.
But other similar standing clubs have not consistently picked up the amount of injuries and long term ones we have. I appreciate some players have injury issues before they get here, and if at their top level, they would be higher up the chain, but someone in the club needs to take responsibility.
Also we rotated players during that time also.
I would suggest why not try a new performance team.
They have had a go and consistently each season with the players we have, they have failed. Maybe another set of employees here, could get better results and players would pick up less consistent issues and be brought back at the right times.
Its been several seasons of failure on this side of thing.
Appreciate, we have the players we have to manage, but surely lets give others a chance, because this team has failed every season.
Personally have nothing against Ben Williams and his team personally, but whatever way you dress this up, the department is failing.Some are mentioning personality issues etc. They can be the biggest a***h*les as people but if the results are positive, whether they are a nice person is irrelevant. We keep them.
Personalities is irrelevant. Achievements are the key. Its not happening. Lets get in a new team here. Every other aspect of the club is judged accordingly.
Am not being funny but this resting players and taking some off after 60 minutes as pre planned to prevent injuries, its total and utter BS.
We consistently have the worst injury record in the league.
Yes, i am not a technical person with knowledge of biological and physiological treatments for best possible fitness and recovery times, and players supposedly train at levels to encourage long term and sustainable fitness and appreciate i know nothing around the logistics of this.
All i am aware of is the results of these issues !!!

Generally always have a minimum of four long term injuries and in general we have ten to twelve unavailable at any given time.
This performance team is the one consistent failing department of the club.
Please get rid of these charlatans. They have been awful. It can be dressed up in a whole variety of ways, but the consistent failures have NOW to be addressed with great urgency as this current team will get us nowhere.
Please change them Mr Nourry. We want to try new blood please....

Not looked at much Rangers stuff for last couple of days.
This injury situation is just dreadful - mild and polite description.
Am aware other clubs face similar and aware we take a punt on decent but injury prone players but this is beyond bad. I hate this club at times. And this is one of those times.Crikey. The level of injuries and the times out for many are actually ridiculous in a professional set up.
We have 25 full squad members and all are decent. However if you took a poll with availability I would suggest we have around 13 squad positions covered over 46 games if it was extrapolated data and a lot of the players out are absolutely key players. So you would have to say perhaps the squad will achieve 16th at best, once more.
We are just finding different ways to the promised land ie16th .
So, just when we started the sesson we all felt top 8 is entirely possible, most of us now may be reconciled to that being a pipe dream in another season.
I sincerely hope not - but it could quite easily go that way sadly...
Personally, I have never met you myself, but your straightforward common sense approach has been greatly appreciated on here.
Have had a few challenges myself recently, no where near at the levels you are currently facing, but your advice to either leave here, take a break or simply take things slower, was a massive help to me and at rhe time, I had no idea myself, what you were actually facing.
