Don't know if anybody watched France's Nations League win, but the law that allowed the winning goal is plain stupid.
Hernandez played a ball through to Mbappe who scored but was clearly in an offside position. Garcia had tried to cut out the through ball & got the faintest of touches. Because he was deemed to have deliberately played the ball, the goal stood.
I don't think anybody who watched the game would think that shouldn't count as offside. It's bad enough having rubbish referees without having rubbish laws too.
Early days yet but with the new wonderkid rapidly establishing himself at right back, what do we do with KWP? He looked OK when he came on today but is substitute right-back/left-back his new role? It would be interesting to see if he & Livramento could both play down the right (option for Weds?) but what would we do with Armstrong S – assuming he's staying?
I think KWP's too good to have him sitting on our bench. Could we afford to sell him & rely on Valery/Djenepo? Although if Livramento lives up to all the hype, maybe he'll move on after this season anyway which will solve the problem.
Just been watching his Japan side lose to Spain in the Olympics semi-final. He had a penalty decision against him overturned by VAR but they lost in extra time anyway. It would be good to see the guy end up with a bronze (vs. Mexico).
Not exclusive to England, and I'm sure the majority of supporters behave themselves, but why do we still seem to produce more than our share? Booing national anthems & opponent possession is bad enough.
Watching Stekelenburg playing for The Netherlands tonight set me wondering about our other ex-players at the Euros. Apart from Alderweireld, Bale, Fonte, Hojbjerg, Lovren, Shaw & Ben White (youth) are there any more? I feel like I'm missing somebody obvious...
