At Least It Can't Get Any Worse - Can It?

Lincoln City Preview

For us now it is meaningless other than to prove that we are really a football team and not the that we have seen in the past few games.

It is hard to see anything other than a Lincoln win tomorrow as we prepare for the first of two games in 48 hours - Hull being the visitors to the Vetch on Monday afternoon. The reverse fixture at the Vetch saw Lincoln take a very early 2-0 lead only for the, then highly in form Swans, to pull it back for a draw. How the tide has changed since then.

Kenny Jackett will pick his first Swans side for this fixture and will probably realise that at least it cannot get any worse than it did on Wednesday night when we were outclassed in every department by the Welsh Premier Division leaders. Alan Tate will definitely miss the game - giving Matthew Rees his likely debut at the centre of defence alongside Kristian O'Leary. Kevin Nugent and Karl Connolly may well be available but the Swans will remain without a host of their first choice players.

Lincoln will have their captain Paul Morgan back in action after missing a couple of games with a hamstring strain and Richard Butcher will contend a starting line up for the first time since his return from knee ligament problems. With the addition of these two Keith Alexander will have the luxury of a virtually fully fit squad to choose from for the Imps who currently lie in 7th place, 5 points above 8th place Yeovil Town.

You really would have to say that this is a banker home win but over the Easter period nothing can be taken from granted but having seen the last few games it will take a huge improvement in form for the Swans to return to Wales anything other than empty handed.
