Once again the travelling Leeds fans vented their frustrations on Leeds boss Neil Warnock as our first defeat on Teeside since we were reigning English Champions 21years ago all but ended our slim play-off hopes.

"Warnock-time to go" chanted the away end at the final whistle as Curtis Main's 81st minute header condemned Leeds to yet another shocking result on our travels and left us eight points adrift of the play-offs.

Warnock named an unchanged starting XI from the draw at Wolves on Saturday. Rodolph Austin and El Hadji Diouf made the bench but fittingly there was no place for Ross Barkley- Warnock later confirming the teenager had returned to his parent club Everton as Leeds were unable to guarantee him first team football.

Leeds were the better team in the first half as they tried to heap more misery on Boro, who have endured a wretched run of form losing their previous five league matches and the omens looked far from promising against Leeds who had never recorded a loss at the Riverside Stadium prior to this encounter.

The lively Norris went close twice, Luke Varney had a chance from 20 yards which had Steele in the Boro goal stretched and the home keeper was grateful to former whites' hero Jonathan Woodgate who cleared a McCormack drive off the line following a near costly slip-up.

However in the second half, the hosts exerted their pressure and in particular the last twenty minutes saw Leeds look increasingly vulnerable, although on 76 minutes Steve Morison should have put the result beyond doubt with a header.

On 81 minutes, the sickening feeling of another away defeat became reality when Millers fine cross was met by the diving head of Main, who arrived at Boro on a free transfer from Darlington. Main then blotted his copybook by getting sent-off, his second yellow card for time wasting.

Warnock finally used some of his subs throwing Diouf and Austin into the fray on 84 and Habibou came on five minutes later, despite Habibou being denied a headed equaliser following a fine save from Steele the fans were not impressed and turned on their veteran manager in force just days short of his first anniversary at the club.
