Clearly a good choice to change manager. The form the team shows at the moment leaves no doubt about that. But it kinda bothers me the way it happened. Because by extension it means that last years trophy means f_ck all.
The fact that the club thinks the manager was lazy and hated by the players indirectly says that the trophy last year was worthless. The club is in a way smearing it's own legacy.
It was a great high last year. And I would prefer that it wouldn't be surrounded by this type of negativity. I was looking forward to the upcoming movie Jack to a King. The climax of that movie was supposed to be the cup final. But how are they gonna present that now? By not showing ML? ML is supposed to be this lazy incompetent knob that the club would rather forget. It's not really gonna work as a climax, is it?
I wish it had been handled with a bit more finesse. I'm not sure it's worth the £3m to paint ML as a contract breaching clown.

At the moment he looks like some kind of Pep Guardiola genius imo. But like someone else said, let's give it some time before making long term decisions. It's only been a couple of weeks. It does look good though. Cardiff, Napoli and Liverpool have been some of the most entertaining football matches, I've ever seen. Let's just have some luck already ffs. |

I doubt that he will get a top club. His career is in big trouble imo. I think the big clubs will think that if he can't get along with management in a well run midtable club like Swansea, there is no chance of him being able to handle a big club with all the politics going on. |

Yes, I'd rather he took his 1 month holiday now, or at least before June.

I think it's safe to say that Monk has exceeded most people's expectations with some truly astounding performances beating Cardiff and schooling Napoli today. Not only does the team look rejunevated and in great spirits. But there has been significant improvements in some key areas like our defence and how we use the wings.
IMO pretty incredible what he's been able to accomplish in a few short weeks. I can't wait to see what he can do long term.
Just wanted to put it out there. A lot of responsibility has been put on his shoulder. And he's doing a massive job. [Post edited 21 Feb 2014 15:18]

Monk will surely prioritize league games. That's a nobrainer. Today was a high for sure. But we are not exactly safe in the league. |
