| Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread on 16:07 - Feb 21 with 1800 views | RichardO | We got the lead and did well to hold onto it with some very good defending after our goal, they did a good job of working the ball out of their defence, we kept it down to very few cear cut chances , possibly only the one. Resolute defending and we almost made it two towards the end to calm the nerves but good performance our two centre halves for the most part shutting the Bristol forwards down. So agreeing with people makes them gay? Just when you seem to have hit rock bottom, you find a new low. | |

Even when we win, you seem to mostly post to slag players off and pour your poison on those you hate. What do you get out of this? Seriously? You can't have many years left. I'm sure you'd be better off spending them doing things you enjoy rather than hate watching a club you claim to care about yet clearly don't. [Post edited 21 Feb 20:15]

I try to judge players on an a match to match basis without any bias. For what it's worth I thought Vipotnik scored and excellent poachers goal but he drifted out of the game a lot today.

I think a lot of that is down to the nature of a player like Vipi. He's there to finish chances. Some forwards are forever charging about, closing down, creating space etc, and others are just clinical. Not worse, just different. Ultimately scoring goals is what we're paying him to do. People can want/expect more from him in other aspects, but at the end of the day he's won the game.

Bristol were the better side for most of the game for me, Cullen should have done far better with his gilt edge chance. Good win though when its all said and done. [Post edited 21 Feb 21:30]

Yes I did try to word it as one clear chance after going ahead, missed that second strike to hit the woodwork presume it was the shot from our right, the chance I was referring to was the shot save made by Vigouroux, so it was in fact as you say two chances , but as per comments Cabango and Burgess defended very well, we rode our luck but games are won often by small margins and as has been said Bristol looked the better team but they had to attack and we did have a clear cut chance ourselves.

| Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread on 00:41 - Feb 22 with 713 views | AnotherJohn | Excellent result against a team that pushed us hard. This game was a reminder of how difficult it is to get out of the Championship. There are quite a few teams with good squads that could be there or there abouts when it comes to the play-offs. | | | |
| Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread on 05:40 - Feb 22 with 632 views | RichardO | We did have that couple of, in quick succession, brain freeze no chance passes/ clearance in that second half to almost gift Bristol openings and we did get stuck on the wings in tight positions it irked me that for some of the throw ins we reverted back to slowing the game down to waited to get our selves into the position to play the to tight lay offs to the thrower instead of quick down the line throw ins to stretch the game and gets us high up the pitch instead of leaving them get back into a good defensive shape also noticed Nunes had a number of passes that seemed a little casual but for the most part they weren't giving Bristol possession in dangerous position and he thoroughly deserved the appreciative applause he received as he rounded the pitch after his substitution. Was it a case of us dropping too deep while our forwards chased down patient and effective play out from the back or in the end us not being drawn out of position to be able to keep our defence solid against a team who had dangerous forwards who almost opened or did us up in the first couple of minutes. One question how did Walta win more free kicks in his short space of time than the excellent Widell deserved in his stint although he did get a free kick after breaking through two dubious challenges only to be awarded a free kick even though advantage could of been played and further more the free kick was awarded further back from where either fouls were comiited making Eom's free kick strike just a little too far out! A good but nervous win where every good defensive challenge was greeted and cheered as a goal! | | | |

It's amazing really that Bristol City have been a steady Championship club for so long and never promoted to the Premier League.

Neither Bristol team has ever been in the top flight. Given the size of the city it's quite a surprise really.
