Reply | Where we fail - Wingers as back up defenders
at 09:29 1 Nov 2026
The biggest failure yesterday was shoddy marking in our box. Attackers were left entirely alone, particularly at the far post, from which they scored. |

He was rubbing the back of his thigh so it's very likely a hammy. |

Fair point but we have a young squad, youngest in the league I think, and Kamara has brought in some much needed nous that only comes with experience. |

I want to see three in centre mid. Instead of Vale on the left, we could use Cirkin there instead, who has played in that position a bit in the past. |

Thoughts will soon turn to fresh meat in January. If Varane can't improve and Alemayehu isn't deemed ready to start, moves for a CM could be in the offing. |

Obikwu actually arrived ready to play and was injured in training. As a pacey forward he was signed in January to replace the injured Burrell, not as a DS player. |

That's the second time the stream has failed in the last few weeks. |

I won't be watching this one tonight. The quality of the stream is poor so I find identifying players quite difficult at times which is annoying. Anyway, be interested in your assessment, particularly of McDonagh. |

Thank you for taking the trouble to let us know. Deeply sorrowful news, but it matters because we shared the passionate love of QPR with your Dad. I have a tear in my eye. |

I'm in Bruges this weekend and rather miffed I missed the game. But managed to watch the second half on my mobile and even with a tiny screen you can see how well Stephan has set the team up. The shape and discipline is so good. He's an extremely savvy coach who's learnt this league and is showing his class. |

I agree, but perhaps because Vale has frustrated the hell out of me lately. |
