RIP Vinnie.

What a great band they were. Sadly they pulled out of 'Tattoo the Planet' in 2001 so I never got to see them live.

Damn shame... one of those bands that shaped my youth (even though they'd been around for a while in glam rock form)

Oh man.

Pantera changed everything when they broke onto the scene. Cowboys From Hell made metal exciting for the first time in ages. They were the first band to feel fresh after the 'big four' thrash bands started to sell out a bit (well, three. Slayer never sold out).

VDoP was the album that really put them on the next level but my favourite was Far Beyond Driven. It was just so heavy.

Great band and he was an amazing drummer.
