None of the EU law makers, the 28 commissioners are elected they are ALL appointed. The EU president ls appointed not elected. The voters cannot remove then.
All 650 members of parliament are elected and can be removed by voters. The MPs vote on our laws the other 785 you mention cannot over rule the House of commons although they can scrutinise and propose amendments for the MP to consider.
The PM is the leader of the party that wins the election and voters will vote accordingly. One of the advantages of our system is of course we can replace a PM without having to wait for the next election. A system that is far more democratic than the EU where commissioners and the President are never voted into office.
Mind you Russia does not bother with any form of democracy . Instead Putin kills or imprison any opposition figures. | |
