| Casey to replace Bango or Burgess 08:31 - Oct 30 with 4890 views | Ferryjack123 | I think its time.. For me every time hes come into the side we look better.. Or maybe the switch to 5 at the back moving forward | | | | |
| Casey to replace Bango or Burgess on 08:41 - Oct 30 with 3678 views | Fireboy2 | 5 at the back worked very well last night and I hope that it continues on Saturday. We need to utilise casey's obvious assurance, it means that the full backs wing backs can go forward without worry plus the midfield can push forward more to support the lone striker. Id start with the same formation and team but change idah for vip, cabango for Smith samuels. [Post edited 30 Oct 8:56]

Getting to the point that ee are seeing if you are unable to adapt to different tactics to utilise your players best points then their weak points get exposed, we have some very good players in the squad but we are struggling to get the best out of them, the formation has to be fluid enough to allow any player to get forward knowing that rotation of players will mean cover to allow us to both attack and defend properly. That is not happening consistently enough.

Yes 100% and Casey would be the one I’d trust to carry the ball out. I’ve wanted 532 for a while. It wasn’t quite that last night, but the first 20/30 minutes showed we could play decent attacking football in that kind of set up. Best football we’ve played for a long time until their class inevitably took over

You know my opinion about this mate I've been banging on about it for over a month. Particularly with Santos coming back to fitness it gives us cover when suspensions kick in.

not getting into selection issues now the glitzy game has gone the players and coaching staff have to show up this and every saturday, if as we all hope we are up there at the end of the season its t6his type of game we must be very competative in, think after the sad news re Stamenic we could be without him on saturday , condolances to him and his family so come on lads lets get the show back on the road against an in form side not going to be easy but you CAN do it
| Casey to replace Bango or Burgess on 10:28 - Oct 30 with 3407 views | KeithHaynes | I have misgivings over Burgess and would be more than happy to see Casey alongside Cabango. Or the three at the back. Plus - West Ham will see how well he is doing and could easily recall him and farm him out to another side with more chance of playing.

He tired last night. He could have done a bit better for their second and third if I remember correctly. Even the first, maybe he should have been a bit quicker in thought though that may be me being a touch harsh??

Burgess is an old style battler, mostly when the ball is in the air, unfortunately he isn't lightfooted and has a turning circle of a tanker. Good in the.right situation but not against nimble forwards.

Fair comment In short, he is useful but not irreplaceable

| Casey to replace Bango or Burgess on 12:20 - Oct 30 with 3211 views | howenjack | I think it was evident last night that Kasey and Samuels Smith have talent in abundance and should be used more . The number of games coming up will give them more opportunities it would be criminal not to use them . Kasey reads the game like an old timer and plays with a nonchalance not seen often in a player of his age . Samuels Smith gave his all , we couldn't have asked for any more , he has a turn of pace , a good touch and can play good accurate passes under pressure . | | | |

It was evident Tymon had had a good run He’s an honest pro , as is Key BUT We have serious options and Sheehan is not using them Here I go again We are not making the most of this squad Not remotely so We don’t need to replace players with those who’ve had long enough to impress

Indeed. Tymon has done very well for us since signing, and his delivery of a moving ball (oddly his crossing is much better when the ball is in play rather than from set pieces) is a major asset. Like Key he's probably happier as a WB rather than a pure FB. As much as I've detested playing three at the back in the past maybe it's worth considering in order to get the best out of those two and make room for Casey. I'm willing to consider the possibility that our tendency to leak stupid amounts of goals when playing three at the back in the past was more down to crap management than the formation itself.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

We have to utilise what we have and three at the back with two wing backs does that as far as I'm concerned. Just what we do with all the midfielders we brought in during the summer is another story. We seemed to be just acquiring players without a plan as to how they would fit into a balanced team. But I suppose that is just data recruitment for you.

It's a problem with all statistical analysis and those who put too much faith in it. You can't see the wood for the trees sometimes. I know plenty of number crunchers who don't possess an awful lot of common sense. Sheehan also bears some blame for trying to shoehorn certain players into a style that doesn't suit them. Inoussa looked frighteningly effective when we were actually giving him the ball when he had space to work in instead of allowing opposing defences all the time they need to get set.

Apparently there is a full review of all off field personel pending, hopefully common sense will prevail before the January window.

Sheehan has to grow a pair and utilise Casey’s obvious talents. Same could be said of Samuel-Smith & Widell. We looked miles better as a unit with a mobile back 5 set up, especially with Galbraith Franko and Widell in midfield, who were magnificent against City. More of the same on Saturday Mr Sheehan.
