There is a player there. We saw it last season, we saw it at the start of this season. But since his International break, he has not been the same.

Understand he has come back from an injury so that may have had an effect yesterday - but we did also see form drop off pre-injury.

He was visibly upset at his performance on international break earlier in the season - could it be a mental block after that? Whoever spoke to Madsen during summer should get on the case with Koki if so.

He puts the effort in, and clearly loves playing football. I do hope he finds his form again.

Goal aside, absolutely woeful today. I’d be trying to get my money back on him this summer if I was the club.

Absolutely this. Took his goal really well but spent the rest of the game giving the ball away.

He was better last season but if it was £4.5 million which without multiple injuries was money spent on an area we seemed well stocked.

In hindsight, a teribble signing. Perhaps more based on emotion than need.

Definitely.too lightweight for the Championship.

Took his goal very well but strange to say, other than that, the lad was woeful today.

i think we need cut our losees on him in the summer !!!

I will cut him some slack as he has not been playing regulary and picking up injuries. I am a believer of the players need games theory.

He is struggling with the physicality of The Championship and should be speaking to Madsen who has corrected this side of his game.

He’s had nearly 2 seasons in the championship. His touch is nowhere near the level needed, it’s not just his physicality.

Loses it for fun. Very little end product. Reminds me of smyth in many ways. Good work rate, poor touch, very weak, with the odd goal and assist here and there.

Certainly won’t be making a profit with his rate of goals and assists over nearly two seasons at this level, and be lucky to get our money back. Move on in the summer whilst we still can.

I have a real "been my bonnet" about the number of players who look great when on loan with us...only to revert to shite as soon we sign them. Of course Ronnie will go against that trend... won't he?🙂

Not many highlights yesterday but great control and finish for his goal yesterday.
Not so great when he lost possession for their second but all round thought he was a lot better yesterday.

Giving away the ball for their second goal - the winner in fact - completely destroyed his confidence. He was a passenger in the game afterwards. Pisspoor.

He also gave it away at the start of their move for the first goal. Admittedly, Norrington-Davies, Cook & Dunne were equally woeful for the goal.

I still can't believe he was on the pitch for the whole game. Personally, I thought he should have been taken off at half time along with Bennie & Cook.

Yes he was poor, but his xS (expected smiles) was through the roof.

He did some good things in their box, couple of good pull backs and the goal. Did seem to be looking for the ball more which meant he ended up centrally with the ball a few times. Unfortunately, he was robbed of the ball easily a few times and that led directly to the 2nd Blackburn goal.

It seemed to me as if he was almost trying too hard to be involved as I'm sure he knows he hasn't been playing well.

Last season season he was bullied off the ball too easily but then seemed toughen up and get the hang of the league. Hoping this season is a mental thing and we can find a way to build his confidence. May be look at his diet as he's skin and bone. None of our wide players have found consistent form - there must be a reason for that.

Yeh given that Stephan arrived with a reputation for developing some wonderful wide attackers at Rennes I've found his use of our wingers and their resulting form a concern.

It's a good job Saito scored yesterday or I'd have struggled to find a mark for him.

I thought at the time it was a mistake to sign Saito for the kind of money they were talking about, he was Ok last season but wouldn't have bought him. Been pretty much the same this season, some good games but mostly a bit meh. he was hopeless yesterday and should have been off at half time

Not worth a new thread but Celtic have a guy called Yang on the wing and Reo Hatate. Quite a few Japanese/Korean players in our league and almost all of them are small-ish wide players or ‘10s’. Bae Jun Ho at Stoke, the other Yang we had, Morashita, Ohashi, Sakamoto.

A bit more varied in the Prem but there’s Mitoma and Palace’s Kamada.

Probably of no interest to anyone but me. Maybe they over-index in producing that sort of player or British clubs don’t fancy others with a couple of exceptions in the Prem.
