Will have to see how the Aussies bat but this looks a good score to me for England, I'd put us slightly ahead at the moment

might prove to be a mistake, if they had gone for the wicket England out for around 260-270 instead gonna be over 300

Brilliant from Root, so pleased he's finally got that 100

Dreadful from Stokes, just bat through the session nothing stupid and England have a great chance, now look like they'll be lucky to get to 300

Harry Brook is so frustrating, has ability to get big scores but does such stupid things. Just see off Starc and we are in for a big score but he can't help himself

because the upper loft has very little leg room and you have to have some areas for seating
The PU and Q & R blocks are the best in the stadium for atmosphere imo so makes a lot of sense to make them safe standing.

Unless you build a roof on the lower loft the atmosphere is pretty quiet even with the safe standing,

doing the upper loft makes a lot of sense, the lack of leg room up there is unbearable, hopefully it ends up happening

VAR for corners

They need a lot less VAR not more. The Premier League is unwatchable these days, the rules seem to change every week

It does all feel a bit Brexit now as in no matter what happens people are entrenched in their views. You could probably say that about most subjects these days, there is never any middle ground.

I bash heads on twitter with Matt WInton a lot and I don't really have any problem with him supporting what Nourry and co are doing, I'm not blind to the good stuff but I do think some of the revising of history over Marti's time at the club is a bit ridiculous.

For me, where I can't get on board with Matt is the notion that if you are in any way critical of Nourry/Williams or question what they are doing that you have an anti QPR agenda and want the club to fail. That's just complete cobblers but something he regularly accuses me and others of. I find that just really petty and vindictive on his part, he's old and wise enough to know that's rubbish but continues to push that narrative.

Anyway I think it is very important that the club explain why Furlong has gone, that statement for his departure was basically a PR piece about the excellent aggresive recruitment was just pisss poor and said nothing as usual.

completley agree, I'm just not buying into it's as simple as this is all on the manager. Of course he could have done better and his subs were bizarre but for the fitness thing we lost the game in the first 35 mins so I'm not sure it can be used as an excuse really

trouble is he has changed it before in these 3 game weeks, brought in fresh players and we lost the 3rd game anyway

Yeah social media maybe not a great barometer but I didn't really see the outcry at the team selection at 2 o clock that I saw 3 hours later.

For me yes you can make a few changes and he probably should have but I'm not sure those changes make us siginificantly better

I think it's easy to 100% blame the manager as if the players selected have no say over what happened on the pitch or no control over their own performance. They all could have done a lot better at the weekend

On the team selection I'd have liked to see a few more changes as well, would have started Norrington Davies, Hayden in for Varane and maybe Kone for Saito but I followed the game on social media at the weekend as I was on a day out with the kids.
The reaction to the team was almost universally positive, same again lads, glad he's learnt and not made changes again and those same accounts were slaughtering the manager 2 hours later for not chaging the team.

Yes there was a bit of fatigue in the team but that 11 he picked really should have been good enough to put up a far better fight than they did.

it's a QPR mindset thing for me, we've seen it for years we win a few then they just drop their levels a bit and throw in performances like this. The manager is usually the one blamed for it but I just think there is a mindset at the club that isn't one to be winners but to just do enough and that rears it's head every season.

That looks a horribly difficult job, huge expectatios but not a particualy great squad and haven't really added many players

I think he'll be gone before we play them

good luck to him if he does get a move, I wouldn't blame him, he's running out of time to play at the top level so can see why he's doing this

Changing Captain is fine but it's how you do it that is the issue. Field went from new long term contract to being told to find a new club within 2 months which was not ideal.
With Marti we'd have got compensation either way, he ended up going by mutual consent with a clause that if he gets another job we get compensation, that could have been done at the end of the season rather than drag him and the club through the mud.
Kelman may well have wanted to go but it was an odd thing for him to say about how he was treated. It's just a pattern of not treating people well.

I get football is a pretty ruthless business but this doesn't smell right
