No, it makes perfect sense and I said much the same last season.
Eom is a better player than the stats suggest. For me he's wasted out wide and would be more effective centrally. Maybe that's part of the plan. Have a variety of players capable of playing across the front(ish) three. Just, Eom and Opoku and rotate them. Walta as your regular #10.

I'm not expecting much to happen with Congreve. He's been here long enough now and if we're spending this much in the market in his preferred position then the club probably doesn't rate him that highly either.
I'd expect him to head off on loan again or maybe make a permanent move. Wouldn't rule out another departure either. No info, but if someone came in for Ronald or Eom or Inoussa we may consider it. Shame if it was one of the latter two IMO, but it wouldn't be a surprise.

Watching more video of this kid and the thought strikes me that we might not be buying him to play on the wing. He does seem to like hanging on the last defender and breaking through onto passes with pace.
A shift from a central striker in the Vipotnik style perhaps?

I'm genuinely surprised that there's not been more chatter about it. You'd expect loads of rumours, links and whatever to have come up more often if he is headed to the door given the season he just had, but with him there's been not much at all.
Financially the Galbraith sale has paid for Just and Opoku. If Vipi goes we've got the budget for a couple more and still be able to put £10m towards the inevitable losses.

Three nippy buggers (with Idah when you need a bit of presence) interchanging and giving defenders twisted blood could be awfully fun to watch in a "WBA in January 2013" way if Matos can get it to work.

Championship defenders are used to having a player to mark, take away the traditional forward overload the midfield and break at pace and it could be very interesting.

Some of the best teams I've seen down here since we got relegated moved the ball through our back line quickly instead of playing to one forward. Think we got tonked 4-1 by Norwich in one game and they tore us apart at will.
I hope that's what we're aiming for.

Maybe at the moment there isn't genuinely enough interest. If that's the case hopefully that will fuel him on to be even better this year and secure him a big move. Win-Win.

If those clubs don’t meet what the Swans believe is an acceptable fee I’m certain Vipotnik will happily play for the club without any of that Ethan Galbraith BS. He has carried himself perfectly since his improvement last season. Model pro. Unlike some.

Seems that most of the speculation comes about players we don’t sign and the ones we do a little under the radar.
Even Galbraith seemed quite lowkey for such a big transfer fee and such a promising player.
Less fanfare, more risk imo. That’s the new way.
I'll just put this out there. If Galbraith was a problem did the club play a blinder. Purposely under negotiating a new contract to ease him away without letting prospective buyers know and therefore getting a decent fee and rid of a problem the same time. You could well be right. The club seem like they have definitely changed the way they work. But what would be the reason for that? Surely if your MVP wants to leave, the more clubs battling for him the more money we would get? Although maybe with Stoke willing to pay so much, there wasn’t much scope for a bidding war?
