It is probably missing out on income from lapsed members. I am not sure how keen these former members are to sign back up. It seems with the stability brought by the Ogdens and the formation of the CAB that it lacks a raison d’être. [Post edited 6 Aug 7:16]

You might be right about the Trust now having no meaning or 'reason to be" but it did good deeds in the past and was well supported even just as a fund raiser.

Poor communication, and the anti-democratic fiasco around last years members request for an EGM and its consequences have caused numerous Dale Trust members to resign or not renew. There was a GDPR issue as well.
The Dale Trust has played a good role over the years, particularly during the Trust convened RAFC EGM of 2021, and fighting the consequent hostile takeover attempt, when membership figures were at record levels. Maybe evolution has resulted in CAB and the 1907 group leading the way in fan representation rather than Dale Trust, who still do a good job organising away travel. [Post edited 6 Aug 0:33]

You may well be right about the recent loss of relevance and the Dale1907 group does seem to be doing some of the Trust's role but I don't think that group or the CAB 'represents' fans - neither are membership organisations, neither are elected by fans; indeed the CAB was chosen by the Club so The Trust will still be needed.
I think it needs to reinvigorate its relevance so it can be seen as the natural home for the Golden Share. | |

Agreed, the Trust has, in my opinion, lost its raison d' etre, but as you say it needs to find a new role for itself, being the keeper of the golden share and organiser of buses simply isnt sufficient to sustain it. I wonder if they would be more relevant if it could work closer to the Community Trust and become the " fans in the community" vehicle? Perhaps tidying up the area around the club, working with people in the streets nearby to bring them closer to the club? Rather like the Japanese fans clean up the stadium after a match? Running a youth club for younger fans? Liasing with local businesses and youth groups... School visits, Cubs...Guides, OAP 's, a club choir, coffee mornings..etc etc...Turning the club into a much bigger / busier operation outside the normal working hours.... |  | | |

I have no idea who is running it now but I think they are suffering from being compared to a number of exceptional chairman who operated in much more trying times. The likes of Col and Judd really did an outstanding job. | | | |

In 1960 there was a junior supportes club, and one of the tasks was to clean up the terraces after the match on a Saturday. [ I have a photo showing a small group of us on clean up duty]. Just a thought. Junior supporters club maybe ? | | | |
