People see only truth in the lies and lies in the truth, they see that because they want to. If this channel 4 story was on Andy Burnham they'd be crying out for criminal charges. If it was about Bojo they'd be screaming throw away the key.
But it's Farage and the cult that has followed him is strong like MAGA and just like in the USA when the cult strtaed to wake up a lot of damage had been done. From what I read a lot of MAGA Americans are turning away fom Trump, his popularity is dropping in all but the most stupid and ignorant. Maybe those who be;ieve in Farage will get there before he gets to the top seat.
The next question is, will we find a leader who can actually turn this country around or are we doomed?
Lets face it, we hope to get good politicians but they come from us, they go through our schools and colleges but "garbage in, garbage out and when you look at society in general, where are the good people coming from, the rich, self serving, greedy entitled crowd or the poor grasping, greedy, selfish self serving crowd? There's a lot of people in between who might make good leaders but aren't interested. |

Politicians should be there to serve the public good, sadly, all too often many are in it for all the wrong reasons. If we are to have good governance, then there needs to be absolute transparency in relation to every financial transaction a politician or political party are involved in and if the law is broken those responsible need to be held to account. People who transgress and fail to comply with the law must be face serious consequences and I don’t mean a slap on the wrists or a telling off I mean jail.
We need to be sure politicians are acting in the national interest and aren’t taking backhanders, bribes or whatever people want to call it for malignant motives, for example Nathan Gill who took money from Putin’s Russia. There’s serious questions now being asked in Hungary post Orban about corruption and his stance on Russia.
Farage is getting a lot of attention and scrutiny, but that’s because there’s a lot of unanswered questions and from where I’m sitting he’s got a lot of explaining to do. He’s been gifted £5m quid, that’s a lot of money and I just wonder what, if anything is expected in return? The alarm bells should be ringing.
If he’s done nowt wrong, great, he’ll be able to stand up at the end of the enquiry and say I told you so, but in the mean time we need to have a no stone unturned investigation. [Post edited 4 Sep 22:44]

Our governments of the last 40 years and have brought us to this, Reform are every bit as bad as any of them.
They say what happens in the USA always comes to the Uk, if people are happy with Trumps behaviour and want that in the UK then crack on with Reform. Sounds very much like what happening over the pond. I’ve no issue with sensible reforming of the House of Lords, but the judiciary must be completely independent and merit based. Judges mustn’t become beholden to politicians and the latter must not be allowed to become above the law. | | | |

Its more than obvious that Labour are panicking over the rise of reform and are pulling out all the stops to dig deeper and deeper into everything they do and where they get their funding from and its without doubt that they are spending thousands upon thousand of taxpayers money to do so, the bottom line is that ALL those parties resort to skulduggery when they feel vulnerable, its pathetic.

I couldn't log in, my laptop got hacked and I just bined it and couldn't remember any log in details (though I did have a break for a while anyway because it's been very busy here). My son was learning to drive and we were out in the car a lot, we have 2 dogs now and both need a lot of exercise and my wife has been ill for some 18 months now and had 3 months off work where I pretty much had to do everything, my son did help a bit. There's a few other things too.
My son finally passed (3rd time...expensive that was  ) my wife is much better and with the Swans looking exciting again AND I bought a new laptop I thought I'd dip in again. | | | |

Personally I think that when someone is set up the majority of the British people can see right through it and they get more support than originally expected. In short it often backfires.
