Unless playing under Fifa rules? When will they do something about a deliberate handball on the line denying a team a goal. Last night was a perfect example of why Fifa need to introduce a penalty goal like they do in rugby with penalty try's. Ghana should be in the WC semi-finals, not Uruguay - once again a cheat has prospered. This isn't a rant at Suarez, I am sure 99.99% of players would do the same thing, but it prevented a 100% certain goal that would have put Ghana through. Instead, some poor fella has to take a penalty and the utmost pressure. While I am in the middle of this rant, I see that the German keeper has come out and said that he fooled the ref during the England game - surely if there was ever a case of bringing the game into disrepute this must be it, openly admitting to gamesmanship? I am loosing all faith in football these days and as a manager of a kids team, just what sort of example is it setting them? | |
