Butlers a great white ball player but he hasn’t shown the ability or technique to get past 30-35 runs..., 41 test matches with 1 century averaging barely 30 is pretty bad
Meanwhile, bairstow, who is a pretty accomplished and technical batsman whose scored centuries all over the world, is not even in the conversation .... and he’s miles ahead of butler as a keeper.... England is playing a lot of young players over someone who has a lot of cricket ahead of him
I can understand if it was a team like India where decent batsman like kl Rahul can’t even get into the side... but this england batting lineup is pretty average to not play a player of his class | | | |

Bairstow has developed some major batting flaws in the last couple of years, he only has a single 50 (52) in his last 16 test innings. I agree that Buttler isn't the answer either, maybe it's time for Foakes to have another try as a genuine keeper. | | | |
