Was anyone watching the game between Orlando and New York City?It went to a penalty shootout, but that was only the start of it.
The Orlando keeper made a save which would’ve meant that they won the shootout and the coach had disappeared down the tunnel. Then the ref ordered the kick to be taken again as the keeper had moved off his line.He moaned and got a second yellow card and was sent off.
They tried to make a sub and and bring another keeper on,and the ref allowed him to stand in the goal before getting a message in his ear that he wasn’t allowed on and they had to put an outfield player in goal.
Cue the typical outfield players attempt at saving a penalty. Then Nani had a chance to win it for Orlando but it was saved and it went to sudden death.
Then New York missed their spot kick and the Orlando players came on the pitch thinking that they’d won.It took the ref a while to explain to them that they had to score with the next kick to win it,which they finally did.
The shootout took about 23 minutes from start to a confusing end.If you get the chance to watch the replay, sit back and wonder how they can turn a simple game into something so complicated.

Bloody yanks.
