What happened to Leicester's (supposed) points deduction then? |
 | Forum Reply | Eckert said Aribo was excellent at 17:08 30 Nov 2025
He's saying Aribo was excellent because we need to move him on in the January window. I'm not sure Eckert coming out and saying "Joe was dogsh1t today - absolutely hopeless & he couldn't be arsed" is going to bring the money in for him. |

Aribo doesn't want to be here. Fair enough. Why he's included in the squad, let alone getting game time, is beyond me. |
 | Forum Reply | So does he get the job? at 18:24 29 Nov 2025
He's already been given the job according to my sources. The only reason it hasn't been announced is because he doesn't hold the required work permits/badges or whatever they're called and was refused. We appealed and are awaiting the outcome. |

That was a real slog today. Just when you think we've done enough to earn a point, we concede a sloppy goal at the death - reminiscent of days gone by. Fair play to Millwall. They did their homework, worked their socks off all game & got the rewards. Sometimes football just sucks. Today was one of those days. |

Be interesting to see what Tonda does from here. Not much in the way of options on the bench though. COYS. |

We're missing our engine room in Leo Scienza. He loves to drive forward & creates opportunities for others. Plus he terrorises defences when he runs at them. We're gonna have to do this the hard way today if we're going to get something from the game. I would take a point all things considered. |

A bit too much playing it around at the back again for my liking. That's what you get when slack Jack plays instead of Quarshie. Not sure what he did to get himself dropped from the other night. |

The aim now has to be the play-offs - and then anything could happen. The squad is more than capable. It always was - but Will Still never ever made the best of it. Eckert, assuming he'll be given the job from now on, will be under tremendous pressure to finish in a play-off spot, but he looks and sounds like it won't faze him. He's got a cool head & the fella could be an absolute gem that that Spors unearthed. All ifs and buts of course - but I'm on the bus with Tonda Eckert! |

Damion Downs is out tomorrow with a twisted sock... |

One of the worst acquisitions Saints have ever made... and God knows we've made a fair few! I see nothing, zero, zilch in him that made Saints pay what they did for him. He'd struggle in League 1 let alone at this level or even higher. Is it a confidence thing? Ability? |
 | Forum Reply | Is Tonda Eckert THE ONE? at 12:01 26 Nov 2025
It would be somewhat easy for the players to not really give a toss when Will Still was sacked & just go through the motions - knowing a new manager was coming in & then upping their game to impress said new manager once appointed. But the way the players have taken to Tonda Eckert tells me that none of the squad was ever behind Will Still and his management style (or rather lack of) in the first place. Players were dropped for no reason, played out of position, didn't know what they were supposed to be doing, and even worse, I honestly think the players thought Still was hopeless and incapable of managing at this level. Under Tonda Eckert, the transformation is there for all to see - and long may it continue. It's the old adage of 'If it aint broke - don't fix it'. |

Give him the job. It's obvious the players like the fella and get on with him. They must be taking onboard his tactics/game plans too because they're suddenly busting a gut for him. I noticed in THB's post-match interview on Radio Solent in the car coming home last night that he (THB) said the preparation for each game is 'something else' or words to that effect (he was a little cagey about giving away too much detail). You can't argue with 12 points from 4 games. We won't win every game under Eckert and it'll be important to stick with him when we lose & not panic. But from what I've seen so far, he deserves the gig and good luck to the bloke. If the players like him, respect him, and step out on the pitch giving their best for him, that's good enough for me. |

Fabrizio Romano reckons "“There are internal discussions about this at the club and he has chances, as he’s doing a very good job.” Beat Leicester tomorrow and I say give him the job! |
