Arsenal vs Chelsea
at 21:53 30 Nov 2025

Many years ago i was suffering from a niggling re-occurring back ache and as a member of a local gym i went to see a trainer about a workout routine, he asked did i want to look like 'Arnie' and i said 'not really' i keep getting backache, he gave me a routine (no weights just stretches) to build the muscles around my spine which in theory 'support' the spine, it worked for me, not saying it will help everyone just passing it on.

The BBC
at 14:19 11 Nov 2025

Most of the argument's i have read pretty much agree that the BBC is alright (ish) but not perfect.

Maybe the solution is to break it down to smaller parts and have the person in charge of each aspect and to be independent from each other (news, children, documentaries, etc.) and every 3 months or so they report to a (Commons) select committee where they produce a report justifying expenditure, income, salaries, complaints, etc.

On an aside, how on earth do they end up with the salaries they get, paying the license fee is compulsory and the argument that it's competitive with the private sector is twaddle, let's pay someone a £1m a year to present MOTD, how about, put a compilation together without a presenter and press play.

Match worn shirts, through the years
at 10:53 30 Oct 2025

I live in the hope that one day, that where ever we play our home games, be it an expanded LR or new venue that we have enough space where memorabilia held by many QPR supporters and families can (as i would) loan/donate to the club items that can be safe and secure for the enjoyment of a wider audience.

P.S. I have no issue with private collections but hope that those who own/possess any good stuff would do the same (as long as the location is secure, or someone else would just take it).

Our history suggest a serious injury in the pre match warm up.

I would have more time for Madsen if he was utter gash, he isn't, he's lazy and for me that is worse.

I would never dream of telling someone where to drink and depending which part of Hillingdon you hail from but the British Legion on the Uxbridge Road is £4 a pint for Staropramen and Neck oil, membership is about £25 a year (£12 for RBL, £8 for Hillingdon branch and £5 for the door fob).

Brentford taking their full allocation
at 09:47 30 Jul 2025

They only brought about 300 to the Premier Cup Final, they'll be lucky to bring 1,000 on Saturday.
I grew up in Acton and went to school in Ealing and never knew any Brentford, i know more now in Uxbridge.

Sell-on clauses
at 12:34 15 Jul 2025

If the sell-on clause is slightly prohibiting Palace selling Eze, i wonder if the club has ever offered to settle on a fee to waive it.
20% of say £50m is £10m, maybe the clubs could settle on £8m-£10m and we can then waste quicker (only joking for the last bit).

Roof advice
at 11:46 7 Jul 2025

Had pretty much a similar experience when i bought my house circa 2000.
The valleys on the roof (internal corners) were allowing water down the inside walls of the box room, when we had downpours the water was getting in around the windows, tried to do a bit of DIY which held up for a bit, but in the end i gave in and got both done.

From memory the roof was £5k (Semi detached, quite small) and the glazing was about £3k, i have had most of the glazing replaced recently and for the whole house it would have been £5k ish.

Personally i'm glad i got the whole roof done as it was guaranteed for some years (can't remember exactly, as for the sweating that may be down to the roof not being 'vented'.

In my opinion (for what it's worth) if you like the house and don't want to move then invest the £35k in the existing property rather than paying stamp duty to the clown at No.11 who will only find more elaborate ways to waste it.

Leicester in more do do
at 13:15 18 Jun 2025

A while ago there was a thread for tenuous claims to fame.
Now i have one but this is possibly as tenuous as it gets.

I went to see my physio (i have a herniated disc in my lower back) and i was wearing a QPR tracksuit top and she informed that her dad had put the livery on the QPR plane and showed me a picture (of the plane, not her dad).

Let's be honest, if you're on the bench, already relegated and 3-0 down the last thing you would want is the manager giving you the warm up sign.
I think most right minded people would have gone for the straight red option.

I get that, but next to my door is a bin.
It would take less time to put it in there and take a photo than walk next door, very strange.

Delivery Drivers
at 14:28 10 Jun 2025

Just had DPD make a delivery to my house.
The driver rang the door bell, waited about a second and put the parcel on the doorstep.
Then, took a photo of the house next door, got in his van and left.
I then got a message from DPD saying you parcel has been left at number so and so with Richard.

Two things,
1) There is no Richard at that number,
2) The parcel was left on my own doorstep,

Luckily our street has a Whatsapp group, so i put out a message and the lady across the road confirmed the parcel was still on my own doorstep and took it in for safe keeping.

We Love QPR and give best reasons why
at 12:25 3 Jun 2025

By far the best selection of Pubs anywhere in the country,
The Askew,
Vale Club,
The Vic (Special occasions only as bloody expensive),
The Conny,
The British Queen (or whatever transient name it goes by now)
The Adelaide,
RIP The Greyhound,
The Horse,
The Green,
The Beaumont (Weld),
and so many more,
Some London grounds like Orient, Millwall, Spuds have hardly any.

Not to start a new ground thread but if we are to stay in the borough H&F there are only 2 options (type in H&F to google maps).

A) LR we (QPR) own it,
B) Linford Christie Stadium (or what ever name it goes by) and H&F own it,

So can both parties stop fannying about and decide whether to bring LR up to date or demolish LR and give it to the council in a swap for LCS and build a new stadium with sporting facilities that we and the residents of the borough can use.
