Exciting news about Neil letting Spotify in again - had no idea. He seemed quite determined for a long time, will have to read about what happened there.
Also perfectly set up to guarantee a mess by having the cup final on the Saturday (as it should be) but the massively more lucrative play-off final the next day.
If the play-off final had been first they'd have been able to go for it and then take the cup final as it comes.
Having no particular opinion about Coventry I really hope this happens now for the spectacle of it all. It won't of course but makes things interesting. Great game last Sunday I must admit.
My theory is they're generally lovely people with a bit of a short fuse. Saw at least 4 fights in Istanbul when I was there - all kind of things including the man on the barrier at the ferry going mental on a passenger who'd been giving him shit.
The idea of reserve and not losing your cool seems to be sort of the opposite of what it would be in, say, Japan. Not saying that either is right or wrong, just an observation.
Not related but I noticed on that wider angle video that Old Pedro posted I think it might be BOS you see running back towards the tunnel on about 23 seconds - some bloke in a black jacket/white t-shirt tries an almighty lunge at him which the player evades expertly, then the lunger proceeds to get up, make a sort of 'drat' gesture and have a bit of a look at his phone. Mad.
I always think The Fox and that area by the canal is one of those parts of London where looking at it you'd never believe you were in a big city. Which is nice.
The Duke of Kent is a nice big old pub, if you're prepared to take a quick cab from the station.
There is also the option to transform our home form by giving teams 3 stands and we all cram in the school end, thus transforming it into an away fixture and reaping the extra ppg's.
Classic Nourry-ball.
Not Leeds though, the experiment doesn't stretch that far.
I actually thought Colback had shown himself to be quite good at getting the ball on the half turn and either carrying or playing it forward. Do agree he didn't have the same joy yesterday but I put that down to the imposed lay-off and the Borough midfield doing a decent job - Howson always seems solid.
There is a clear pattern of play though, where it goes out and back, that explains quite a few of those passes. Thankfully that's started to look a bit quicker and slicker of late. e.g. there were a few minutes in the second half between Hayden coming on and them scoring, where Borough had had the ball for ages, couldn't get it off them, then Hayden comes on and it seemed to either create, or coincide with, a change - we then had it for a good 5 mins. Thought it was a balanced game at that point but we just needed to keep it tight and take one of our few chances, neither of which we ended up doing.
Subs-wise, the only one I couldn't agree with was the timing of the Armstrong one at 0-2 down. Getting another forward on fair enough, but the opposition were now sitting in - the time to try to stretch them a bit, introduce his freshness, and find a gap would have been straight after their first, or maybe on the hour mark when Frey was running out of gas. Don't think any of this lost of us the game though.
Christ on a bike. The second looked too easy at the time anyway but getting beat at the near post like that is just appalling. Killed us with that effort.
Have to be honest I was pretty down on him for a few weeks during our most recent dark period. He just seemed to be constantly playing it backward of square. Obviously that was largely because of a lack of movement, creativity and confidence in front of him, so there was no point giving it away, as well as his own loss of confidence I'd assume.
But everyone was playing shit and Sam's version of shit was understandable. Very glad to see things come back round because I'm convinced it would have been a 'WTF were we thinking?' situation seeing him come back and play against us.
My current Rangers daydream involves us staying up, Eze staying fit and getting sold, and those two things allowing us a bit of room to sign Hayden - who then himself stays fit obviously...
I get that mate, I'm just not a fan of this.... 'approach'... Where's the blow-hardery!?
I was convinced Frey would smash it and was more worried about it sailing over. Might have been better off who knows. Like him a lot though, think he fits us well.
