Excellent article. I note, however, that your prediction of an 1-1 away at Blackburn (against all historical precedent) means you can't have given up hope on the R's just yet, regardless of Nourry's antics 😉 |

A tough game with the weather absolutely thrashing down. Ball was skidding about all over the game which lead to a lot of chances.
Two cheap goals to give away, especially the first where Hamer should make the save. Made up for it with a cracker of a save in the second half.
We did well to hold together and go on to get the win we deserved. No real poor performances - Varane had a weaker first half but looked good inthe second. Chair was the standout and Dembelé started to look more like the player we all fell in love with. If he can sort out his end product he's going to be great.
At the end of the day, a good win against a decent side makes the weekend feel so much sweeter... |

Agree with this. I think this message board reflects us as fans, which is that we are either over-excited or over-negative.
After a couple of wins we start looking at the playoffs and licking our lips. A couple of poor defeats and we start writing off the manager and players entirely; all of this after all very sagely discussing our young side and how they would have ups and downs.
Don't get me wrong, we were atrocious on Saturday. But I'm not sure why we're catastrophizing about players like Kone after we all knew that he would have on-spells and off-spells, or talking about how Bould might replace Stephan weeks after we were all eulogizing about him. |

This signing came out of left field and I love it. Perfect type of signing for us - pace, power and a bit of finishing ability (a touch of work needed there, but he took his Wrexham goal well so there's a finisher in there). But most of all he looks hungry.
Someone on here said they reckoned he got a deal he wasn't expecting and wants to make the most of it, and I think they're right. [Post edited 5 Oct 8:54]

Again, Jaz is a fantastic host. Can't remember if I said this last time but these podcasts are really amazing for those of us who live abroad and so can't reasonably get to many games during the season. It's lovely to get a tiny taste of it from across the sea! |
