Due to some books I read, I really want to try a mint julep.
BUT....it has to be on a lawn in front of an antebellum house, shaded by Southern live oaks wreathed in Spanish moss. There will be smart waiters, a jazz band playing and a femme fatale on my arm. [Post edited 5 Aug 22:03]

I've got a few, including some punk stuff and qpr tats on my arm, shoulder and inner lip.
Had one done from an lp cover, a skull in a union jack. It was from an anarcho-punk compilation, it was supposed to be in black and white, but I was talking to mates, looked down and the tattooist had coloured in. Anyway, a few years later and C18 were apparently using a similar design as their logo, which led to some jolly japes.
Still gets the occasional funny look in London- it's just viewed as a design over here - and my wife would like me to get rid, but I'm too pig headed. |

Ted, I don't see anyone having a go at Charlie, but the fact that he's made it public knowledge surely makes it fair game to talk about?
I don't see this regime employing someone with such a large social media presence, and especially given how emotional Charlie can be at times, I don't think that's unwise. [Post edited 3 Aug 17:52]

I think all the starters are here, so I expect we will be, as you say, rummaging through the bargain bin for back ups. We're actually not in a bad place, seemingly.
I would like to know more about Madsen and Obikwu's injuries, though.
And then there's the perennial issue with Kolli. I'm not going to pretend I'm at all itk, in fact I think it's probably 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, but it's getting boring now. The club need to see him as an asset, and he needs to look at how a couple of the lads beneath him have pushed themselves into the reckoning this preseason, and take note. |

You laugh, but i remember watching him casually ping the ball from one end of the pitch to the other, straight to foot, during a training session, in Sweden.
It was actually watching him, who did have his limitations, shall we say, do that, that made me realise how skilled professional footballers are.
And now you've made me use my coma allocation up before 6.30 am...... |

Glad you're sorted Brian. I was going to suggest that if you didn't get to watch it, I could have had a look at the bbc report of the days racing, and then recreated the best bits for you. I'm sure someone would have lent me a bicycle, but if not, would a push scooter have been alright? Lots of the kids round here have them, and they're still small enough for me to bully. In fact, as there's loads of them, I could have used them as the peloton. It'd be great, they're size making them look like they're far behind me as they chased me. |
