Hull Away
at 03:05 6 Sep 2019

Blimey!

I agree with you about the Premier League, largely a horrible place. Hull is a pretty good away day, there are some really great pubs in the centre and the locals are largely unassuming and easy going, quite like Nottingham I'd say. Enjoy.

Attendances so far....
at 09:57 27 Aug 2019

The different price on the day is very annoying.

I make most home games with a season ticket and bring my daughter to 5 or 6 games a season. I don't want to force it upon her (well I do but I don't) and so sometimes she does not want to go the night before but she does on the day. It's really unfair to penalise a parent who is trying to develop a supporter!

More generally I would just make it half price for anyone under 25. Our support base is too old, that needs to be addressed urgently.

I really like woke, it feels like a deliberate grammatical mistake and a nice play on language. Plus an amusing piss take.
The one I hate is snowflake, which essentially seems to be the default reaction from thickos when someone is being a bleeding heart or sensitive.

I'll add to the Mythos is shite, it's just got no bite. The Alpha in bottles is a better local drop in my opinion. I'm in Zakynthos and the barman at my apartments has just given me the outstanding news that he can pick up QPR Huddersfield tomorrow.

End of Term Report 18/19 – Strikers
at 22:04 28 May 2019

My word, an outstanding report amongst a series of great reports.
The Eze thing I don't get at all, maybe the likes of me are partly to blame because I could go on for a very long time about what a good footballer he is and won't have a word said against him. Perhaps the reverence the seers have feeds the dissenters.
I loved the hyperbole from the Stevenage manager because I have probably only seen Chair 5 or 6 times and he has looked mostly totally ordinary to me. Happy to be proved totally wrong of course.
Let's hope Warburton gets the best out of them all. At least this appointment makes sense, it's that which gives me a tad more optimism for next season than last.

Absolutely, utterly always. Have been blown out maybe twice in 500 occasions. My daughter used to get really embarrassed about it but occasionally she joins in now. One particular shopping trip miles from HQ we You Rsed everyone in any form of blue and white hoops, be it a t-shirt, umbrella, plastic bag, anything, what a hoot!

Managers You Cant stand (and why)
at 10:44 28 Dec 2018

A classic case of opinions this thread. I always really, really liked Chris Coleman. The 2 questions I'd ask are would he get the beers in and could I play for him and they'd both be a resounding yes.

I just finished watching that Sunderland Til I Die thing on Netflix and it just enhanced his reputation for me. Obviously, they had the nightmare of all seasons but there was a dignity about him that is all too rare in the game. I enjoyed the bit where Aiden McGeady is slagging him off because he basically didn't get angry enough when they lose; he probably fantasises about being managed by Roy Keane. Coleman for me tries to create a positivity through graft and self belief built up over time, unlike say Pardew who orders batches of t-shirts. He's not a short term fix guy but give him 3 years and I reckon he'd improve most clubs.

I must add that when a few in the Q block sang about Al Fayed being a paki they were very loudly and quickly booed from my group in the P block and elsewhere I am sure.

Oh yes, they were extraordinarily rubbish. I think my worst was also my first. Tonic for the troops by The Boomtown Rats. Geldof has such a clumsy way with words and a whole heap of bad musical ideas, although there are some ok moments.

worst away day?
at 22:49 24 Apr 2018

The first suggestion on here, the 4-2 loss at Chesterfield was actually one of my favourite ever away days. Had a great drink before the game and then got the bottle of sambucca we were trying to sneak in confiscated at the door but to be fair they were very lovely about it and directed us to a hut to collect it at the end. Again they were very lovely. Then as it was my birthday we went out for the night (in Leicester cos it was half way back home) and everyone was on great form.

I think it was the combination of being too drunk and happy to care much about the result and not being offended by the opponent, them being so nice and there not being much at stake. Poor Chesterfield, out of the league now. Plus it is madness I think to go that far away without some fun plans before and after, else it would be a desperate weekend.

I think London derbies upset me the most, which is why I have missed all the recent good ones v Fulham and the Filth.

Thanks for that, a great watch. My favourite recent QPR player. The only thing spoiling the video was Wright Phillips, the dreadful shit, refusing to celebrate.

Must just add that when news broke about Ray's death I spent the next 3 or so hours in a room with BBC News 24 on and they rebadged the story continuously. Mentioning QPR at length, Chelsea, Man U, AC Milan, Rangers, all the clubs where he had significant spells. They even showed him in a Fulham tracksuit. Seems someone in the sports department had told 24 they mustn't upset the supporters of any team.

In all seriousness

We have to be a selling club, it is the only way we can thrive. Josh Bowler to Everton for 4.25 million was the best bit of financial business that QPR have ever done, it was extraordinary really.

You would of course want promising players to stay a while though and the longer the better in some examples. I'm amazed given Manning's talent that he has not played more this season but bids for him and Eze would not surprise me one bit. It could be that Manning would be happy to leave given his lack of opportunities this season but I'd be amazed if Eze left, everyone at Wycombe seems to think he is very level headed and hopefully the powers that be will be using the example of Josh Bowler and his zero appearances in a struggling Everton team this season.

Spare a thought for Bowler, he doesn't even always make the under 23 team and his last 6 tweets are all retweets of people bigging up Eze, he may be our best weapon in keeping the lad a good while longer.

Cheap train for Hull away
at 10:42 16 Feb 2018

Just booked this and was amazed at how cheap it was. I have a 2 together card (which costs £30 for the year) but going up at 1148 and returning at lunchtime the next day was £55 FOR THE PAIR. I am going to have a little lie down!

It was via nationalrail.co.uk and they divert you to hulltrains.co.uk

Our fans and our players

Quite, all. There are characters I encounter at football that thankfully I never come across in any other sphere of my life. They are entitled to behave how they like but I reserve the right to take the piss.

Colchester or somewhere else in Essex/Kent and I think we had just gone down to the third flight. Anyway it was a night game and this dreadful couple were carping about how useless Andy Thompson was (he weren't) when he scored a very late winner or equaliser and we involved them in their probable first ever moshpit. They were thoroughly cross and that they did not see fit to enjoy the goal regardless somewhat added to our glee.

Holloway slams R's fans
at 10:32 28 Nov 2017

The more you look at the video the worse it looks but I don't think that Holloway is being aggressive, but rather that he is making a crap stab at sincerity.

Also, lots of people on here are taking it very personally but I really don't think they should, there will always be people who leave early for all sorts of reasons, especially on a cold Monday evening but it was the sheer numbers that left that was so jarring. When we scored the first I had a quick look around and it looked like 75% of people had gone, certainly you could count those in the Q block on one hand. 20 minutes earlier they were singing "Your support is facking shite" towards the Brentford fans.

I love the poster who suggests we should get Holloway down the Crown and Sceptre so we can have a good debate about the rights and wrongs, great work!
