Many thanks Jamie, lovely report. I was certainly brought up with Don Givens and was really energised by Allen, Goddard and Gallen and of course Ferdinand, Helgusson, Furlong and Austin. I am getting excited over the potential of our new strike force. |

Hi James, the club photographers that were covering QPR before me were John Brough and Keith Crackenden. In those days, the photographer owned the copyright and not the club. Old photographic library’s were often sold to big agencies like Getty. Most of my QPR negs were sold when my old company got brought out.
The photo calls were always attended by the agencies, club photographer and local/provincial newspapers. I certainly remember processing portraits of Brian for the London News and Standard.
Try Getty, they used to have a QPR fan working in their library, they might be able to send you something being that it’s a special occasion. Good luck with your project. |

Thanks Clive, another fabulous report which has really cheered me up.
When I was a photographer covering England games in the 80’s and 90’s, my agency always sold more photos when England got beaten. I got a record amount of publications in 1988 due to Englands poor performance in the Euro Nations. England’s failures always provoked more hard copy. So I am not surprised that LFW receives more traffic after a defeat, as an avid reader and silent lurker, I certainly notice it. |

Gordon Jago gave me Dave Thomas, Stan Bowles and Don Givens. The foundation of a team that played with style and panache. A team that I grew to love and has given me so much over the years. It all started for me with Jago’s philosophy and he has given me a relationship with the R’s that has become such a personal and often emotional journey. I am really gutted by this sad news. |

interesting survey. I would have answered the questions very differently when in my 20’s/30’s but now as a 63 yo, I work for a large mental health charity and facilitate support groups for men that have lived experience of abuse in childhood. I am a strong advocate of talking therapy’s and peer group support.

Many thanks Clive for all your wonderful previews and match reports. You have the knack of making me feel involved, motivated to keep the faith, making me laugh out loud over miserable results and making me shed the occasional emotional tear which I have done on three occasions this season.
Thank you Clive for making sure that I will return next season for the next chapter and I now know better than to sit behind you in F block! |
