What is the point of having 4 stadiums within 5 miles of each other. There appears to be zero chance of finding land locally. Therefore we have to fully explore the wastelands to the west, within easy reach of the M25 and the M4. Presumably LR is a goldmine for housing. Alternatively share Twickers with the RFU. |

A few pubs called "The Duke of York" may well be in line for a new name. The DOY in Fitzrovia had a signboard with Mountbatten Windsor's picture on it but I gather this has now been taken down. |

A footballer called Arthur Longbottom was always asking for trouble. |

Entirely predictable after all the bazball hype. 100 runs ahead with 1 wicket down and allegedly the fastest attack ever. We needed people who could consolidate. Too much 20/20 cricket means we don't know how to play test cricket. No proper warm up matches, pitching in bowlers who have barely played for a year. And Cummins and Hazelwood to return. And please please can we dispense with Crawley. A test batsman who is worth his salt should have a batting average of over 45. |

Or Channel 5. Hours of programmes about the Royal Family on primetime Saturday evenings. Dreadful films about Christmas in early November. Who on earth watches it? |

I'm old enough to remember Alan Spratley who was the most vertically challenged keeper I have ever seen. Generally a good keeper but absolutely hopeless at gathering high balls. |

Going back a few years, the disgustingly unpleasant Bernard Manning. |

And FC Andorra Vs Las Palmas is 2748 miles return and if you're walking it you may need a change of clothes. And as always I'm sure the Chinese can come up with something better. |

How do they do it? Third in the premiership table. Stadium capacity 11300.No tradition or history. Amazing. |

Pace is the answer. We lacked it at the back. We lacked it at the front. There should be no place for Frey (especially) or Cook. Frey would be better employed as one of the dray horses that lumber round Wandsworth delivering Youngs beer. (Do they still have them?) Whoever thought it would be a great idea to extend his contract needs to have their brains examined. As should anybody who picks him again to start a game. |

The best striking duo were the terrible twins, Jim Towers and George Francis that we snapped up from Brentford for £8000 in 1961. And yes, I have seen them. |

I once saw Norman Rossington (Cupcake in the Army game if you go back that far) in a pub miles from where I live. The next day in the office I said "Guess who I saw in the pub yesterday". Back came the answer "Norman Rossington". My blood ran cold. |

When I suggested a few weeks ago that Madsen had a TOUCH of Ray Wilkins about him I was flayed alive and confined to the outer darkness. I repeat that assessment today. |
