Will the French be saying that..?
This nothing to play for mentality ? Is this just an English premier league or championship thing , where a cup game off football are tossed aside in favour of just staying in the league or just throwing the youth players on, as they cant play in the serious business end of premier football. ?
Or is there personal pride at stake? Its better to come third than forth isnt it? . To beat the French regardless.

Haha... I was literally gonna ask if Deliveroo go there. If Sainsburys deliver, than I guess the answer is yes. You cant beat a KFC on a Friday night. If Burnham is in then then I guess its gravy and chips.. for a bit of scram.

As we're talking about international football, is it just something in the DNA of players.? Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, Argentina, Italy. What is it about those nations that win these tournaments? Each having their own style or identity. I know its a cliche but the Germans efficient, South American teams , skill and flair etc.
I remember Spain were always the nearly team, much like England for years until 2008 and basically that Barcelona team.
Is it just something about English mentality, is it the manager, is it the coaching from grass roots to international level? I dunno. Kane mentioned about the missing jigsaw piece. Would Pep Guardiola take an England team to the next level. ?
Southgate had more success with England then previous managers as he knew one of the biggest problems with the squad was team spirit. It was fractured by the players domestic clubs. There was no harmony and it was made up of individuals. Does the Premier league take too much out of the players.. ? Obviously Bellingham and Kane dont play in that league, who are our two best players.
Tuchel was supposed to build on Southgates foundations, and to an extent he carried that philosophy into his squad, keeping a tight knit group, rather than bringing a Grealish or Foden etc. We still fell short though.
Will be interesting to see the England v France game. Theres nothing to win obviously but to see how the players respond.

Argentina were battering us for about 5- 10 minutes before Tuchel made the defensive subs change. For the first time in the tournament i was relieved about the hydration break. Maybe the players were just done, due to fatigue? But Tuchel has a squad and a lot of players hadn't even played much in the tournament. I think that argument doesn't really stack up.

Well there's something wrong with journalism if trying to stir up a story out of nothing is your game.
But its funny now though as Tuchel is basically up shit creek. I wonder how the players are feeling about him now? This little episode probably hasn't helped Bellingham's opinion of him.

People have every right to be angry. The journalist doesn't deserve death threats but he deserves absolute pelters in front of the nation, just as Tuchel, Bellingham and most footballers do on a weekly basis.
It was a snide manoeuvre whichever way you paint it and was framed to cause a negative reaction. I'm assuming Gabriel Clarke is English, so why he thought throwing that curve ball to Bellingham was a good idea is anyone's guess. Stupid idiot

Its his job to ask questions , not try and stir up the dressing room which he clearly tried to do here. Its just a game of football, we won . Storm in a teacup but seemed so unnecessary. Just an awkward moment. Not Gabriel's finest moment.
Tuchel and Bellingham are good professionals, im sure it wont effect their game.

It was really poor. The fact were all talking about now and was even picked up straight after by the pundits in the studio, who tried to laugh it off.
To then tell Bellingham was a snide maneuver. I think the reason people have been upset by this, is because weve all seen the british media before string up England players and managers and how its effected our performances in the past. Given the work that Southgate and now Tuchel have done to create a good team spirit we watched live, an English reporter play a player and manager off each other to get a negative reaction. Really not helpful at this stage of the tournament.

Yeh I thought the questioning by the media was pretty shabby. First clearly upsetting Tuchel, than digging in and carrying his line if questioning, and then stirring it up by telling Bellingham what Tuchel said, who was clearly surprised.
Snide maneuvers by the English media team. Embarrassing.

That was a pen all day long. This thing that he put his leg in front of the defender is a joke. He was shielding the ball. He got in front of the defender and gets kneed in the back of his leg. Defender all over him. If he was running into the box, one on one with the keeper, and he defender done that tackle from behind he'd be sent off.

People are now looking for the worst in people of power because history says a lot were wronguns.
Scepticism isnt a cancer.
Lies are a cancer.
Pedophiles are a cancer..

I dont necessarily disagree with a monarchy type set up, but I do question the individuals involved in it these days.
Theres something really seedy about the royals, the BBC, Hollywood because there have been so many accounts of terrible behaviour towards vulnerable people.

I think questions definitely have to be asked of the King if this is true. Sorry, but to surround yourself with known p*dos is alarming.

Currently on the wagon, as of Friday. Ive had a very long battle with it, truth be told. Ive gone on the wagon before, and then made a conscious decision to start drinking again. I can function day to day, i dont go on massive sessions for days and can go all week without one. But Friday nights i can knock back a couple of bottles of wine and 4 beers, then Saturday/Sunday. . I turned 50 this year , and years of heavy drinking is catching up with me. I've now got Barrettes oesophagus and a hiatus hernia which i have to keep an eye on.
Ive told myself im not drinking till my holiday end of August, then knock it on the head again until my next appointment with the doctors next year.
I always feel better the next morning when i dont drink. Moderation is the key, but easier said than done. For me anyway.
Whens our next AA LFW group session? ..lol

How QPR are building for the future - Christian Nourry interview the CEO show
at 20:53 24 Jun 2026

Really good thread this.
Just a shame our fans don't have more say within the club. We just have the echo chamber of LFW to voice our concerns. (unless some do?)
I used to give Nourry the benefit of the doubt , but there are genuine concerns now, especially the lies. Like i said earlier, i think we need to see how this season pans out, but even if we are successful , the lies has already damaged his reputation.
I know football business is a shady world, unfortunately, and maybe that's where Nourry thinks he can operate and get away with it, but agree with others , he should be held accountable.
