| Forum Reply | Next season - 4 key players for us to keep at 16:54 24 Apr 2024
From afar looking only at screens it looks to me like Willock still has the technical ability he had when scoring brilliant goals under Warburton before his bad injury, but has lost a bit of pace over that key few feet it takes to get round decent defenders in an around the penalty area. He isn't getting as many goals as you say, but also not so many shots on goal. Looks like he has lost a bit of physical strength from when he was at his best as well to me. |

Nobody knows and it's just my bad gut feeling. Based a bit on us having to play 2 good teams with Leeds needing a win to get automatic promotion and Birmingham having it in them somewhere to be a good team - they were 6th in October when they made the bananas decision to fire Eustace and appoint Rooney. |

Looks horribly likely to me that we get nothing from Leeds or Coventry while Brum go above us on GD by beating Huddersfield who look gone, and taking a point from a Norwich team most likely already in the play- offs. |

They can catch us on GD, though highly unlikely. |

JCS Player of the Season for me. Class. That tackle yesterday showed where he's at. Top notch. Sinclair Armstrong Young Player of the Season. Improved considerably and also the most exciting player to watch for me. Has terrified defenders with a huge smile. For Goal of the Season I voted Andre Dozzell's cannon into the top corner, at Boro I think, from about 30 yards out, but the Keeper was nowhere near it. |

Brum can drop 2 points and still go above us on GD if we lose our 2 remaining games. 4 points from games with Huddersfield and Norwich possibly already in the play offs look doable for them. |
| Forum Reply | Andersen at 17:18 21 Apr 2024
I'd written basically the same about Andersen but it disappeared somehow while editing. But anyway I agree entirely. Note: he can throw it longer than anyone else too except possibly Dykes, judging by 2 yesterday. |

Corrected thanks. Must have been thinking about who needs to lose today. |

The spill the Preston Keeper made yesterday for Dykes goal was an easier catch than Begovic's spill at Plymouth. I've read of many similar errors in Championship games recently, end of season nerves perhaps. 2 from Woodman yesterday. [Post edited 21 Apr 11:43]

Agree with a lot of that. Andersen was good in his first few games mainly because he wanted to pass and move forward into space for a return pass, create openings in the oppositions penalty area... but those passes rarely came from Chair or Willock. Recently he's looked perplexed at then ignoring him when he was in good positions and try to do it all themselves, and he seems to have lost form. Of late there's not been much interplay between Willock and Chair either. |

It looked dark on QPR+ |

Yes I think Begovic was just fine until about mid-season but got a lot of abuse on here anyway from some posters. More recently he has made more errors and looked more hesitant, maybe not so sure if he should come out for a cross or not for example, uncertain whether to come out or not for that 2nd goal or not at Hull and perhaps delayed it. I don't know maybe he's just getting old like all of us, but he could of read or heard of the unecessary abuse and his game suffered from it which of course doesn't help us. He got nearly all the blame for his flap at Plymough, while for me Albert was equally at fault for not reacting quick enough and clearing that for another corner. Hope he's not getting it at the games. |
| Forum Reply | Time to finish with the Dunne experiment? at 08:41 15 Apr 2024
I think we should continue to use Dunne at RB, or at RCB if we go with a back 3, but there maybe some opponents like Hull where Cannon is a better option at RB. |

Thought Cannon was pretty good Saturday too. Hopefully he was able to spend the time he's been out recovering from the groin (?) Injury he was supposed to have been playing with. He looked fit enough at Hull anyway. |

Our GD should at least avoid that. Huddersfield would need to win by 6 or 7 goals to go above us, Sheffield more if I'm reading the table right. |
