Credit where credit is due. I was totally wrong about some of the questions that the club would accept tonight and am pleased that they did so. |

100% agree with Simmo here, but I fear that the club may not have conducted an internal review, given that they were quite keen to go with the 'nothing to see here, 90% availability, favourite players' defence. If there is no problem then no need for a review, right?
Of course we all know there is a very real issue but just hope the club have the minerals to acknowledge it this time.
Final point on the forum. Anyone who thinks they will accept/answer questions that haven't been carefully vetted first is dreaming. Hence the small window to submit questions in advance. They will probably also only accept a handful of questions in the room, but again they will be handpicked. I went to last year's one and that is the way it was done. Would genuinely love to be proved incorrect on this next week, but also suspect there will be no mention of Rayan Kolli at all.

Tough one on Kone isn't it, almost feels like something of a risk to play him given that he has pulled up twice in pre season. But agree we still need to get minutes into him.
I had totally forgotten about Tylon Smith as well as we haven't seen him at all? |

Can't see another 7-0 today but we will be there again to enjoy! From yesterday's starting lineup, we can already pick out some of the starters today:
GK - Ward
DEF - Mbengue, Morrison, Edwards, ? Maybe Esquerdinha, unless Larkeche gets more minutes?
MID - Varane, Vale Not sure who else?
FWD - Burrell, Poku, ?

Spot on DW and beat me to this. Phil was terrific last night and also reminded me of Armstrong with his athleticism. Crucially though, he looks comfortable on either foot - cross for chair with his right, but looks to cut in on his left to shoot.
Also impressively, he took a free kick or two so shared responsibility with Chair, showing that they trust his delivery already. Couple this with his work rate and directness and you end up with a thoroughly impressive performance.
For all those who say last night wasn't massively useful; The performance of Phil Sanayaolu, Isak Almeyahu and Alfie Lloyd was really encouraging. So too just getting minutes into Chair at any level and him cruising through the game, dictating everything. |

I can explain this one - we were in the standing section near the fence and the chant started because one of our fellow rangers (who was clearly well oiled) kept trying to start chants, shout out 'witty' comments, etc.
However, he had basically lost his voice by 20th minute so he's shouting/singing could only be picked up by dogs. It sounded ridiculous and fans in the standing section were laughing at him. The chant was actually aimed at one of our own! |

Kone is a fantastic signing on so many levels. Ticks all the boxes for what we need as a forward currently. Current league one player and young player of the year. Has done his bit through the levels. Is on an upward trajectory. Allows Frey to become an impact sub, whenever he is fit again.
All that and with the seemingly global striker shortage, he will only need to get 10-12 goals to be valued at 10mil+ this time next year. So fantastic signing from a business standpoint. It's exactly the type of opportunistic signing we cry out for.
Yes we may have missed the boat on players like Alfie Doughty, Ronnie Edwards, etc. But credit where credit is due to the club if this gets over the line. [Post edited 11 Aug 2025 19:06]

Honestly, just when you are feeling like the world is against you as more 'rumours' of the latest injuries keep coming, Rangers go and pull this off (hopefully). Would genuinely be a fantastic signing and excellent business that we could get Burrell and Kone for a similar price to Kelman.

Strangely they say 'strictly no persistent standing' on them? Can't say I've noticed that on tickets before - do all the Watford tickets say that? |

First half we were decent in spells, some good stuffs being played. Liked the look of Mbengue and Burrell. Preston were average and a half decent side will beat them 2 or 3 comfortably.
But genuinely think you can boil that game down to one very simple fact - There just isn't enough depth of quality in this squad. Case in point - a clearance from Preston bypasses our entire spine and puts their striker clean through to finish.
I recognise the challenges of FFP (however loaded and nonsensical they are as a concept in themselves) but this squad is still 5 or 6 short.
Dembele and Poku coming off today also gives me palpitations. Please don't say they are injured too or that will be even more of our favourite players that we won't see. |

Good afternoon all,
I just wanted to send out a quick message to say hello - my name is Jack Whitehead and I have been reading content and enjoying it on here for the past number of years. (Favourite cheese is Manchego, in case anyone is interested)
Some of you may have seen that there was a story on the website a few weeks ago about putting yourself forward to join the Supporter Advisory Board that is being setup, following EFL guidance. I have been lucky enough to get through to the final, election stage as an individual candidate (not officially linked to a fan or media group).
The election story will be going live on the club website shortly, where all the candidates have written bios, etc. Voting will then be open for two weeks to all season ticket holders and members. I have written a little nod in my bio to one of the classic posts on here in recent times (the infamous 'Bobby Z in '89' line), as something of an acknowledgement to LFW and all the great people on here.
I don't have any social media footprint, so am hoping people vote for me based on enjoying what I have written in my election bio piece. But I wanted to put something on here so that you knew that one of the candidates is on here and wants to have the opportunity to represent you all, voice your concerns, etc.

This is starting to read like a thesis someone is working on. Or playing the man and not the ball. Or getting a poll started up.
For what it's worth I'm a home and awayer but sadly wasn't in Perpignan - and this does indeed reflect my opinion. Fully behind Stephan but loved Marti for the job he did in difficult circumstances. Nothing more, nothing less.

Totally agree, we have been crying out for some of that. Pressing high is exactly the sort of trait that creates opportunities for the following in of Chair, Poku, Dembele, etc.
Would also agree that Celar could very well be gone sooner rather than later. |
