Have we started digging down yet, or have we decided on building the British Maracana?

Boy I’m looking forward to seeing us play in a 50,000 stadium that’s all ours.

Get Tukel in and enjoy the great defensive tactics, while half a dozen Irish builders, bolstered by Chinese workers, throw up the new stadium in double quick time.

Alas, at 62, I think my chance of seeing England win a World Cup final has gone.

Cannot understand last nights match. We started well, but needed to go into shit house mode, rather than go into ‘lay on the beach’ mode.

I think the Baltic was great because I got to see Moscow and St.Pete.

The Caribbean was good, as was Asia.

But out of them all, South America wins hands down…..
Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay etc etc

Totally epic.

Been on well over 15 cruises including…..

The Baltic , that included St.Petersburgh, Moscow, Finland, Sweden etc etc, all from Tilbury of all places.

Done the Med, The Caribbean, South America, Asia, China and Tokyo.

I’d recommend them like a shot.

My next one will be a return to Cuba as it’s just fantastic there.

Buddy Holly, having seen ‘The Searchers’ used the words ‘that’ll be the day’ in his song.

True story…..

Back in the day, when ‘the Duke’ was staying in the hotel by the chain bridge in Marlow, the guys trying to make the Tower Bridge jump, were making a scale model (at Pinewood) of the bridge.

The car used was a Corgi model, sprayed yellow for the film.

Tower Bridge was perfect in every way, and was modelled with the bridge up for the film.

Come the day, I was on set watching the guys literally do what we kids at school did, clasp your hand over the car, bring your hand back, and propel the model forwards and up the ramp (filming was done using a high speed camera so that it would look more ‘authentic’ when moving at a scale speed.

Now, the yellow capri just didn’t want to ‘play ball’ as when it got to take to the air, it would tip left, right, nose down, ass down, etc

Sometimes, a door would open, and it didn’t matter which, as the capri wasn’t fussy.

The Capri would sometimes hit one of the towers, but you couldn’t guarantee to miss the towers every time.

After 4 days, (and on the very day I was on set) the camera rolled, the lighting was perfect, as I saw the yellow capri take to the air, and come down perfectly onto the other ramp.

All were happy.

As they had no further need for the bridge model, I was offered it, but refused. Mum would have gone spare seeing it in the house, so it was left to be got rid of by whomever threw these things into a skip.

However, the yellow capri, was offered to me, and me being a complete tool, I took the stupid stance of ‘I don’t play with toys) and rejected the kind offer.

Needless to say, I never refused anything from Pinewood or Bray.

Thanks everyone.

This brain fog is terrible.

I guess one day I’ll start forgetting Leeds at Rangers all those years ago too.

Maybe Crewe to Manchester, as Brum to Crewe is 4 track, with passenger trains using all 4 tracks.

Match identification
at 13:52 26 May 2026

Hi,

I’m trying to trace the date of a QPR win (don’t laugh).

It was a first day of the new season and Rangers were at home. We went 1-0 up,
Arse then scored to head to a draw. It was 30 odd years ago.

Now, the reason I need your help, is that as my age has gone on, like some others, my mind has slowly started to ‘grey out’, leaving me ‘blanks’ in my recall.

And here’s the real kicker.
Dad died,
Then 8 months ago mum died.

And I’m left with part memory of the match as it was my son’s birthday. And I don’t know the date.
Feckin grey cells.

If anyone can help me, I can make sure I can slowly fill the gaps in my memory, please?
Best
Dave

As a link to all this, does anyone remember the PC’s and WPc’s that got beat up at Manchester airport?

Well justice has……….nt been served.
Despite the overwhelming video and camera phones, with some of the worst fighting I’ve seen, this week the 2 mail assailants were let go…….

I seem to remember, that when the HS2 was in the planning stage, the Chinese said, in as many words…… you give us the contract and we will build it cheaper and quicker (3 years I think they said).

Obviously now, the Chinese lost……. Or did they? I mean Christ on a bike, look at how mich a bat tunnel on the line is costing….. £109m for 1 freeking bat tunnel.

Ow before any of you say….. yes but it’s the Chinese init, and look at Temu for shoddy shit, I can assure you that I’ve travelled on the Chinese rail system thoroughly, and found it efficient and fast. Almost to the second.

Rather like a new ground for rangers, we shat ourselves in our feet.
We could have had it for cheaper, with a higher speed etc.

I also had the fortune of travelling the Shanghai Maglev! My word, 120km before it cleared the platform end, all the way up rotors big double figures in speed, having to slow down at the half way point of the journey.

It seems we just cannot do anything quickly, efficiently, that won’t need changing or moving or adding to bloody bat tunnels to keep the bierdy wierdies at bay.
